USCIS website offers some helpful advice around this:

Quote

In preparing your packet, remember:

  • Do not use binders or folders that we cannot easily disassemble.
  • Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • Sticky tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. For easy filing, place the tabs on the bottom of the page, not the side.
  • Do not use heavy-duty staples; instead use fasteners or heavy clips.
  • Do not submit originals unless specifically required.
  • Do not submit oversized documentation unless it is necessary.

Double sided copies acceptable or single side only?

For the form I-751 definitely use single sided.

For the evidence, it is better to use single sided. However, i have read a person using double sided as well.

The idea is to make it as easy as possible for them to scan your application. There would be less chances of something going amiss..

01/09/2019  Mailed ROC package via FEDEX to Lewisville,Texas

01/11/2019  Package delivered to USCIS office

01/16/2019  Received text message with service center as SRC

01/17/2019  Status on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ as accepted. Check submitted electronically to my bank. Not cashed yet.

01/18/2019  Check cashed electronically.

02/07/2019  Called USCIS regarding non delivery of receipt . They asked me to call back after 30 days have expired since delivery

02/11/2019  Called USCIS again regarding non delivery of receipt. Mentioned that license will expire along with greencard on 02/28.

The lady filed a request on my behalf so i could schedule infopass.

                        I separately also filed e-request(https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndn

by choosing I-751 and other option , before calling USCIS just in case.

02/13/2019 Got callback from USCIS that infopass cannot be scheduled, but they will mail

                       a duplicate notice.

11/08/2019 Biometrics got completed

03/24/2020 Case status got changed to card being produced

Hi Everyone !

Just being curious.  Must I send my I-751 application/ document with any envelope like from Staples or just only the post office ones (Usps, Ups, Fedex etc).

So if you are going to use USPS/Fedex/UPS , they offer flat rate boxes and envelopes which can be used.

Most people in forum tend to use those.

If you have online banking, you should be able to download PDFs of bank statements. Everywhere I've ever banked has offered that, would seem easier than scanning or copying a double sided statement.

I'm almost certain we sent the form itself double-sided.  Most of the evidence was single-sided, but we probably sent some original statements (like car loan) that were double-sided.  I didn't mind sending in the original because I have PDF copies as well.

My guess (and here I'm speculating) is that they pass all the forms through an industrial scanner that does double-sided scanning automatically.

But they likely have to push a few buttons extra to scan your documents from being double sided.  ;)
