Hello guys,

I have read many posts about the supporting documents for the AP application. I wanted to share with you what I have so far.

-cover letter
-g-1145
-form i-131
-passport style photos x2
-passport biographic page(s) (copy)
-usa entry stamp (copy)
-visa page (copy)
-1-797 approval notice (copy)

i also saw some people mention they included the following:

-electronic I-94
-ID (copy)
-letter explaining why AP will be needed
-g325A

are any of the above additional required that I should add to my application? Or did I miss something else?

Also should the cover page go before or after the form g-1145?

Thank you

In our AOS packet we only submitted the AP form. That's it, approved EAD/AP combo card no issues.

Only used on G-1145 form with the I-485 and got notice with all forms.

We did also an explanation letter with the AP simply because it asks for that on the form. I-94 is required to prove when you last entered the US. I don't think just the stamp is enough, but I could be wrong. I would sent your most recent I-94 just to be sure, I know we did.

Letter of Explanation and g-325A is unnecessary. I would put a copy of ID (which is already your passport bio page) and A printout copy of electronic I-94.

also if there was a name change, copy of marriage certificate would be good too.

Thank you! Can anyone aid me into how to get the electronic I-94? I logged in through the website but only see like a list of the travel history. Is that what it's supposed to look like or am I not getting it?

Oh wow first off, Naes!! It's been so long!! hi!! 😁

Second, do I need a copy of passport bio AND ID card? Or can I include just the passport bio? If there is no name change, do I need  marriage certificate copy for AP alone ?

Go to https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search, click 'get most recent I-94' and fill out all the information. Once you've 'logged in'  you can choose to just see your most current one or the history of the last 5 years.

This is what it states on the USCIS website:

For an advance parole document for individuals who are currently in the United States:

  • A copy of an official photo identity document
  • Two identical passport-style photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of the filing of this application
  • A copy of any document showing your current status in the United States
  • Evidence that your trip is for educational, employment, or humanitarian purposes
  • An explanation or other evidence showing the circumstances that warrant issuance of an advance parole document
  • If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application
  •  If you are traveling to Canada to apply for an immigrant visa, a copy of the U.S. consular appointment letter

So I would include a letter, just to be sure to not get an RFE. I'm sure people have gotten their AP without a letter, but USCIS is allowed to send you an RFE if you don't follow their guidelines. Mine said that I'm applying in case there's an emergency in my home country and I need to travel there before I got my Greencard.

Sorry I was sick whole day, for the I94 do as C90 said. Passport bio page is counted as ID so no need for another ID, just the bio page. I would just put a copy of the certified copy (thats what most people do), Again to what C90 said no you really don't need a letter of explanation in this case K1 does not need that, you don't even have to give an exact timeline  I just gave a possible month but we get combo with multi entry so its not needed.

Thank you so much for your input.

A couple more questions. Can you guys give me examples of what document to include for this:

"A copy of any document showing your current status in the United States"

Is k-1 visa fine? I read somewhere that it needs to be a document issued by USCIS (can't remember where) but I don't know if the actual visa is issued by USCIS or another department.. I thought about including approval notice of i-129f but that's not showing the current status

Also for: "Evidence that your trip is for educational, employment, or humanitarian purposes "

obviously I should ignore this?

Thank you again.

Also, after reading the instructions carefully I came up with a question.

Do we need a translation of passport ID pages if it isn't in English? Silly question, but I thought I'd ask.

Don't have my AP yet, but didn't get an RFE so copy of K1 should be fine (as a proof of status)

obviously I should ignore this? Yup

Also, to answer your other question, most (if not all) passports have all the sections (name, dob etc) in your native language AND English. Can't imagine yours doesn't have that, but if so I would put an explanation of which section means what.

Thank you again.

1.    Form G-1145 (1 page)

2.    Form I-131, Travel Document (Advance Parole) (5 pages)

3.    Copy of biographic data page of passport (1 page)

4.    Copy of K1 visa page (1 page)

5.    Copy of Form I-94, Arrival-Departure Record (1 page)

6.    Copy of Certified copy of marriage certificate (1 page)

7.    Passport Style Photographs (x2 attached on a page) (1 page)

This is from my cover letter. everything is copy nothing is original. No Passport doesn't need translation.

Sorry to insert in here. But i have a question regarding the Advance Parole Barcode. Is it really necessary? I printed the form but I didn’t get any barcode. Thanks for the answer.

I didn't put anything for explanation. I read many people didn't and USCIS knows themselves that AoS takes insane amount of time to process, so they issue AP's without additional questions.

I don't remember if mine had barcode or not, today i received a text that they got all 3 forms. So don't worry about it.
