With oil under $50 a barrel gas has been cheap and I only see it getting cheaper, I am thinking we will be under$1.40 per gallon in the next few weeks.

Right now it can be found easy for $1.75 to $1.79, I found it $1.59 at Bucees (Which is a Disneyland type of Gas Station)

No automatic alt text available.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Why is ethanol free gas still 2.99?  90% of the regular 87 is ethanol free.....they add 10% ethanol and the price magically gets cut in basically half.

Are you saying the demand for E0 is so high, or that the supply is very low?  Since the E0 fuel is the base for the blended E10, then I would think the supply would not be an issue (ethanol is not blended at the refinery to my knowledge).  Another question though is why is E85 roughly $0.20 lower than E10 at least in Michigan, I could chalk that up to lack of demand.

I looked into it a little bit. Ethanol gas costs more to produce....so the blends should actually be higher than pure gas. It however, is subsidized so the cost is less...but not much.  Out beloved government has mandated that so many million barrels must be blended. Since the refineries are forced to produce the blends there is less pure gas available from them.

I am saying  you have to shop round to find it, since limited places offer it they can charge more.. Just a personal theory, I may not be right who knows

Subsidies to the corn growers and distilleries.  Gives the false impression that ethanol fuel is cheaper.  Not only is it more expensive,  unless you have a vehicle with an engine made for it, ethanol is bad for seals, causing them to deteriorate more quickly.

Ted Cruz was the only Republican presidential candidate who went to Iowa and had the guts to say that ethanol subsidies should be done away with.
