So fearing someone because of a hat they wear and where they are from to the point you are willing to violate their privacy and rummage through their private property is not mental illness?

Fearing someone because of where they are from sounds like racism.  Or xenophobia.

Got a question for all the mental health professionals here. If you came across someone who feared another person simply because of a hat they wear and the state they come from to the point they feel the need to go through that person's private property would you honestly consider that normal behavior?

I think any mental health professional worth their training wouldn't jump to conclusions and claim a mental disorder or that someone wasn't "normal" from just reading a few sentences about them.

🤦‍♂️

If that were the case, a lot of people here would be in institutions.

Well, I'm no longer a "mental health professional", but the question you ask is something I've already explained to you twice in this thread.

You stated it wasn't mental illness but you haven't said if you believe it is normal behavior or not.

You didn't ask originally if it was "normal" behavior. You asked if it was mental illness. As far as normal, I don't know. Many people seem to have an aversion to MAGA hats. Probably because of the guy behind them. I guess if a lot of people react a certain way to something, by definition that reaction would then be normal.

Many people are not acting what I would call "normal" nowadays, but I'm not going to claim to be an expert on normal either.

No it's fairly common Trump derangement Syndrome.  It's a disorder.
