Unfortunately, this is common in some Service Centers.  Hopefully, the I-751 will be cleared soon!

Good luck!

Exactly not every Service Centers do combo interview that's why I'm hesitant to submit my N-400 application while my I-751 is still in pending, since I don't want back and fort communication from USCIS

I had interview yesterday and my wife Went with me. But the IO ONLY did THE N 400. Our lawer tried to push IO do the i751. But he rejected it and said This is another department handled. Really frustrating.

I agree. There are some service centers that has a policy to keep each process separate. probably for good reason.

Good thing is OP passed the N400. That is, contingent upon passing the I-751, of course.

The few cases I've seen reported here on VJ where the interview was N400 only, the I751 seemed to be processed soon thereafter and resolved within about a month. And the thing is... you probably won't have a separate interview for I751. It will likely be adjudicated without an interview, assuming you filed it with a lot of good evidence.

My wife just had her N400 interview on Tuesday and yes, they did combo on her.  With that being said, I highly suggest you re-think NOT submitting your N400 and have it run concurrently.  There is little to no back and forth communication.  While the I751 sits and sits and sits, you could move forward with the N400...biometrics and possibly getting interview/test over with AND WHO KNOWS...you might get a combo interview!  I truly believe your fear is misplaced and that use the time waiting on one to eventually have time waiting on both!  No harm...no foul!

If you think I am all wet, show me?

So you understand:  We applied 751 in Mar 2017.....Applied N400 end of Jan 2018...400 bio's in April and Nov 2018 interview test for 400 and 751 combo, which was a pleasant surprise!

Thank you, I hope they can process it anyway. Interview or just approved. I am close to get an offer which is 2 times as my current salary. I only hold the expired GC, and I need something to prove I am legit.

First Congrats that you're over with USCIS. Second, I'm not in hurry to become a US citizen, that can wait and that is also one of the reason I did not file my N-400 even on the day of my eligibility. I'm the kind of person that believes in one at the time process, since I get overwhelmed if there are too much happening, life is too short and I dont want to be stressed on a lot of things.

I still believe every Service Centers have their own process on how to adjudicate the application, that's why not all people are getting combo interview like the case of this member that did not get combo interview, but filing n-400 is a good shot specially for those who are still waiting for more a 1.5 year for their I-751 to be processed. I'm lucky enough that my I-751 was over on the 13th month and well prepared before submitting my application.

I feel you, most people here also vent out their frustration. All of us will get over of this once we become US citizen.
