The NOA2 (some call it a approved I-129f) is used in the AOS submission after marriage so store it away so it can be found.

I thought the NOA2 was the notice from USCIS/NVC advising you your petition has been approved? That was sent to the petitioner, not the beneficiary and has “I-797 NOTICE OF ACTION” on the top. We have that safely stored ready for AOS 😊

“Theafons” and I are referring to a copy of our actual i-129f petition form that we filed that the Embassy in London state in their “packet 3” letter that they have included it in the mail. They didn’t originally send this but have now sent me (the beneficiary) that back too after my enquiry, it is a copy of our petition form with their markings and the stamp saying “Approved”. This is from the Embassy in London not USCIS or NVC and I will be keeping it safely also 😊

Thank you! Do you remember to what email address you sent the inquiry to?

I just went on to the US Embassy London website and via a “Contact Us” type link then it had a form to fill out and asked for our case number 😊

Maybe I'm being impatient, but my case seems to be taking longer than others' to get through the NVC.

Our NOA2 was received on 11/16/18. We heard nothing from the NVC, so I started calling them around the second week of December. I also asked via the form on their site if they had received our case, and they responded December 14, 12am EST saying they had not. However, I'd also sent a request that they add my fiance's email to be associated with our case, and they also emailed him December 14, at 9am EST saying that they HAD received our case and we'd receive processing instructions within 8 weeks.

Still haven't heard anything else from them. I called them this morning and they said that they didn't see our case in their system... And I got the standard "it can take 6 weeks to receive from USCIS and 8 weeks to show up in our system." I'm trying to remain calm, but I can't help but be worried. I just sent them another email via their online form asking if we have a case number yet. I know the holidays have probably slowed things down, but looking at similar timelines, most people's cases have already been received at their embassy by now. Is there anything else I can do?

I wasn't aware that LND sends you a copy of the I-129f after approval. How interesting. I know of no other embassy that does that. Now their is a fact to file away. Thanks for the explanation.

They would like a copy of an ID for the petitioner. Can be the passport page or drivers license or if the petitioner is receiving social security benefits then submitting a document that he has received from SS also will suffice.

It's not unusual to see others "leap frog" you in the process. You should call back and ask for a tier 2 agent. They have more information to look at then the T1's do. Call once a day if needed. If they say it's still at USCIS, then call customer service at USCIS or use the online form from here https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

Thanks for the advice!

I called back and asked for a tier 2 agent, and the lady on the phone said she didn't know what I meant. So I explained what was going on and she transferred me to a supervisor, but there was some sort of issue on her end with the phone because she just said "hello" a bunch of times and finally hung up on me 😞

I called again and explained what was going on. This agent tried to find a supervisor to transfer me to, but she said that none were available at the moment (great luck I'm having). So she said that since it's past 6 weeks since my approval notice from USCIS, I should submit a research request to nvcresearch@state.gov and include the email where I was told it had been received, as well as a scanned copy of my NOA2.

Just sent that email off, and I'm feeling really concerned now. I hope our case hasn't been lost in the aether.

They do get displaced but most are found. Just keep on this and don't take no. Sometimes you might have to tell a "white" lie when you make your call. Tell them that you were on the phone with a supervisor or T2 last night and got disconnected before getting your answer and because it was so close to quitting time you were on unable to connect again. Most find this helpful and they get a S/T2 shortly there after.
