Been a really busy week at work - I come back and **BAM** approvals falling all around!

CONGRATS ALL RECENT APPROVALS <3

and HANG IN THERE, my friends!!!   I was mentally prepared to be the last or second last July filer to be approved so this caught me by surprise! We will be cheering with you sooner rather than later <3 <3 <3

Any July Filers here not applying for N-400 anytime soon??   We're not..... we have some time to decide (want to make the decision to allow time for it to happen before kids age out) but I think we'll take some time away from the grind before going down that road... LOL

We're not applying either. I'm a German citizen and don't want to lose my German citizenship so I need to file for retention of German citizenship before I apply for us citizenship.

I'm probably will at the 5 yr mark. I'm Canadian and know I wont lose my Canadian citizenship,  but it still makes me uneasy to say I will relinquish all other citizenships to become a US citizen

I know most people dream of being US citizens,  but I really see the only benefit is that I no longer have to deal with immigration.

This is kind of my thought too. The only other thing that makes me consider naturalization is if my husband and I want to move to Canada at some point. I would hate for all this money and waiting to be wasted. It also would be nice to be done with USCIS, but for now I'll just wait and finish ROC before making decisions :)

I'm with you on that. I think I might apply at the 5 yr mark, so I have time to really think about it.

One of the main reasons pushing me to get it  is acquiring his social security benefits should he die.  And should that happen I will need that income to maintain survival.  I'm not about to return to the work force in my senior years.  I haven't fully investigated this but from what I understand, PR's don't qualify.

This is true, you may or you may night entitled on your spouse social security benefits even after divorced, there are some criteria to obtain the benefits for you to qualify.

Spouse social security benefits are for US citizen only if your spouse died and people should know that so they can decide if they want to be naturalized.

Oooooh,  I didn't know that!  My husband has a pension too. I wonder if I would be able to be that if I wasn't a citizen.
