@PaulMac, did you mean your NOA2 is October 3? If yes then we're around the same timeline. Mine is October 2. So it's still less than 14 days. I received an email from them saying they haven't received mine. Anyway keep us updated if you call them. I really hope I can get transferred to my embassy on October 31 batch!

No one can say for sure. You'll need to wait and see as there is no "vehicle" to use to check that status until it ships. Check ceac.state.gov with your case number. Be sure to choose "immigrant" as your visa type.

Welcome to this thread. Glad you're here. The other group you belong to is very helpful and I recommend that you continue to stay in touch with them as you can all share your experience which in the end helps everyone.

 

You say you are processing your case through South Africa but your profile shows Mozambique. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. We got our NOA2 in Sept. The date on the paper was Sept 12th. I never was notified by email by NVC so I waited the 30 days to call. When I called on Oct11 they told me that we were approved on Sept 29th and that the paperwork was on the way to the embassy in Manila. When I checked the case # on the CEAC website it just says that my case is at NVC with this: 

 

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask. 

 

When I talked to NVC on the phone they verified my email address, but I still didn't receive anything. I then updated my email address on the website just in case they didn't have it right and then asked for the info by email. I still haven't received anything. So all I know is the case # they gave me over the phone. Seems kind of weird. No email, no phone call, nothing in the mail to my address in the US either.

This can be a long explanation to what is going on but I won't bore you and give you what you need to do. Here is everything that is needed to process your visa through USEM. I have given a link to the sub forum for the Philippines and I invite you to go there now for all your questions as there are many of us there that have experience with USEM, SLEC, PSA and NBI.

 

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

 

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course, it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps, he includes the what, when and why to complete the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

My timeline has been updated with the correct consulate so I'm not sure to what you are referring? My fiancé is from Mozambique and Mozambicans are required to file through Johannesburg, South Africa for K1 visas. The immigration info is updated as well.

Yes NOA2 was Oct 3rd. Try calling them. I called yesterday morning - they didn't have it. Called them today 9am as Greenbaum advised- received!

U may get ur case number today. U can call between 7am and 12 pm est. 

if u got ur case number today. U wouldn't be shipped to embassy till at least early November possibly even mid November. Nvc needs 2 weeks to input ur info into the system before it get shoved off to ur embassy.

They received mine weirdly quick compared to others.. I dug through many cases recently, most take upwards 20+days to even be delivered to NVC.
