I went to InfoPass this morning to request change of address for my pending i-485 based on an approved vawa. The officer has no knowledge about vawa cases, she keep repeating that I must do it online.

After a few clarifications, she went out to ask her supervisor and give me only one option is send a letter and AR-11 form to Vermont that I DID twice!!! With signed AR-11,  notarized!

I have no idea why my last 2 letters to Vermont, no single response at all! And InfoPass could not help either.

I am April-05-2017 filer, approved on July 20 and 485 transferred to NBC on August 28th.

Anybody here have been successful change the address of a pending 485 via InfoPass or mail? Please share your experience.

I filed VAWA in Houston, TX but had filed my original AOS in Miami, FL. I moved back to Miami, FL.  Needed to do change of address as well. I was able to confirm they changed my address through Infopass but nothing else. So far I haven't received anything from USCIS and my Prima Facie extensions have been sent to my old attorney whom I fired... I also sent them the AR-11 form notarized twice but no response from them. My latest case update is "We received your correspondence..." dated Mar, 2018 :(

All I could think of doing is making a change of address on USPS...

Good luck, I will follow this question.

Yes he can file   VAWA based on abuse.

@Sandra, You said he lost the chance but he can file Vawa. I don't understand.

He lost the change to file I-360 category widower but he still has the chance to file I-360 category VAWA.

I-360 has many categories. It would have been a much shorter and easier process for him to file as a widower. But he would have had to file within 2 years of the spouses death. If she died on 02 October 2016, he would have had to file by 02 October 2018, which was 2 days ago. This was a  mistake on his part.

You cannot change your address via InfoPass as a VAWA filer. You have to do it by mail. But what you should do after changing it by mail is make an InfoPass appointment and ask the officer what address he sees in the system for your case number. If he sees the new address, then everything is fine. He will not know anything about change of address though, he can only see the address associated with you in the system at that point in time. You need to then see if it’s the old one or the new one.

My old address still in the system after verified with the officer. My last mail that I received from uscis was courtesy letter (recived Sep-27-2018) about I need to bring my new medical examinations to upcoming interview that have not been scheduled yet, but still sent to old address that I moved out year ago.

I sent to Vermont signed and notarized AR-11 twice as follow:

1st time: Nov-05-2017

2nd time: July-22-2018

No response at all and my address was not changed, until now!

Hey guys,

I want to share these two case tracker apps I have been using.

I was using them when I first applied for my I-130 and I-485. I got traumatized with the notification I got of my I-485 denial. At the time, it still baffled me that my ex was such a bad person and did not wish me well. After 1+ year, this doesn’t bother me anymore and I’m using those apps again.

In sum... hope this is helpful for someone else. I found the first app more useful. You can upload your case, and also do a search on the cases before yours to see if others are getting approved.
