I don't think you'll find too many similarities between a constitutional monarchy and the caste system that was used in India. One country has a monarch and the other doesn't. One country had a class system that everyone else is born intof, and the other doesn't. Good luck though.

I cant believe people in this day and time , people think you should treat someone like a deity because of nothing but the family they were born into.  Funny how the MDL hypocrisy buys into such a total load of hoarse feathers.

Kind of like the Indian caste system.

The people of the UK don't believe that the Queen should be treated as a deity, not anymore than one thinks that the Pope should be treated as one either. Of course, upon meeting both individuals I'd reckon you'd at least behave politely or respect the decorum of their station. Even monarchists don't believe she's like a deity. My GGama was a loyal monarchist of course for a variety of reasons, but you have to also understand the lady simply means a great deal to many, and in general the plan with meeting leaders of many countries is to be polite, honor traditional protocol, and try not to be obnoxious. Even at her advanced age, she is a smart and commanding woman.

For those that care: it is an option for a person (including non-subjects) to bow or curtsy to the Queen not a requirement. However it is generally seen as rude, albeit it incredibly rude to A) turn one's back on a Queen (it would be very severely impolite), B) start walking in front of her, when it is her job to lead the troop inspection - it's her troops, her house, and her job. If you say blah, that's just silly, well, imagine if it was your 92 year old respected grandmother who had a very important job to do and she was trying to do it as is according to the customs of her people -- would you interrupt her, charge ahead of her, and not let her do her job? Would you not be respectful of the culture you are at that time visiting?

Ultimately it was expected he'd do something oblivious and rude. We could all do to be a lot less rude, and not being very rude is something important culturally there. And of course, I'm sure there's many that don't care... but Wheaton's Law and all that.

Hi,

Just to put you right on a point of protocol, when a visiting head of state from another country visits the UK & meets the Queen, there is a guard of honor formed for the visiting head of state, when the Queen & her visitor inspect the guard of honor it's the visitor that conducts the inspection & not the Queen, She accompanies the visitor on the inspection.
