Why can't we have a downvote reaction button? :(

There are some posts that are BEGGING to be down-voted but all I can do is be "confused" or "sad" about them? I want to be ANGRY or throw - minus - at some posts!

 

...not to mention I'm sure I'd earn my share of angry down-votes also! :D

I've read here before that they had this option available in the past but removed it (perhaps for the abuse potential).

I agree it would be helpful in certain circumstances---especially when really bad/potentially harmful immigration advice is given as if it were fact.  Generally speaking though, if there's NO likes on a post giving really bad/illegal advice, sometimes that can also be construed as "down voting" in a way lol

 

I can also see how it could be widely abused though if it were an option----people just down voting members they've had issues with in the past, members seeing it as a form of harassment, etc.

Going Through is right.  Abuse would be rampant.

Downvoting was tried many years ago.

I actually ran across a long-inactive member who had a net -1 in reputation points.

 

The best defense against incorrect information is correct information, optimally with back-up.

A parallel defense is the "Report" button, if anyone has violated a Terms of Service provision.

Remember that restraint is paramount -- avoid personal assaults, inflaming arguments, etc.

It can be tough to remain restrained, but it's crucial, and "perfect practice makes perfect," so don't crack. :)

Can we at least have some kind of "eye roll " reaction then? Less negative than "angry " reactions.  Now more than ever I'd love to use that.

There's been an eye-roll emoji all the time (unsure of where it might be now).

Remember that these can be (and have been) perceived as dismissive and a Terms of Service issue.

It's far better to continue to take the high road at all times, as some have been doing admirably, oj tak. :) 

Scream, grind your teeth... but don't punch walls or kick the cat, or let frustration seep into posts.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
