Update: I went to Canada for the holidays, driving. At passport control I presented my passport, letter, and expired green card. No problem at all. The only thing was the officer surprised that the letter went from 12 months to 18 months (he didn’t know but didn’t say much).

no more updates, no biometrics, no nothing.

I went to Germany for the holidays. On the way back, the counter guy at the Frankfurt airport was pretty confused by my extension letter, so processing took a little bit long. I definitely recommend arriving at the airport with enough time for that. But the people at DFW were totally familiar with extension letters, so at least no scare when entering the country. Also, all the stuff that's machine processed didn't work with me, so that's also some extra time you gotta factor in because it had to be done manually. I'm talking about online flight check in, or whenever I had to scan my boarding pass or passport at different check points. It would never work and I'd be redirected at a different line or talk to someone to process me manually.

And yeah, also no biometrics or anything.

Hello everyone,

any updates with july filers? I sent my application july 11,2017, couple months letter they told me they can use the same biometrics i have in their system alao they sent me extension letter, then december 20,2018 i received a letter saying that they already did premilinary reviewed/processed f my application and that my application was transferred to national benefits center. I dont what NBC means and how long it takes to process my I-751. Hope it’ll be quick. I’m also worried with all this trump policy because when i first got here i used medicaid when i was pregnant but cancelled it as soon as i gave birth but my us born son used it for 2 years. I work as registered nurse now. I hope it wont be an issue.

hoping for good news soon.

Hi,

I received my 18 months extension letter on 7/18/2018 for my I-751. My green card expired on 9/19/2018.

Since then, I have been in and out of the country 3 or 4 times. Never a problem at customs. The only thing is that the machines at customs won't print the ticket because it shows that the green card is expired but when I show it to the person at customs there is no problem. When I do the check in at the airport I also have to show the extension to the airline's staff doing the check in but that's about it.

I am just curious because I didn't receive any other communication since then (no biometrics yet). Is it normal?

Thank you,

Nothing at all.

It’s too soon.

Not much movement for jan and feb 18 vsc filers so expecting a longer wait. Csc is surprisingly doing a little better for the same months.

Update:

We flew in from London with Virgin airline the staff were fully aware of the extension letter and upon our arrival in Seattle the Customs officer took my green card, extension letter and my passport but he didn't even look at the letter..It went super smooth...
