We are going on vacation in December and it doesn't look like we will have our biometrics appt by then. Does anyone know if we can leave the country and come back just using the extension letter (NOA1)? Has anyone traveled with the extension letter, is there anything we need to do before traveling like wait for biometrics or ask for AP?

You need both the expired green card and the extension letter to be able to get back in the country. To leave you’ll only need your valid passport (and visa to the country you’re going, if applicable)

Hi!

I've been following this thread for sometime and haven't seen any updates from California filers, has anyone received their biometrics appointment??? I'm getting worried we filed in July and didn't receive a NOA1 in the mail till recently .... we had change our mailing address to c/o my parents because their postal person actually delivers mail to people unlike our guy.

I talked to an officer on the phone and they were surprised we haven't had our biometrics done since our NOA is dated 7/10. Should we be worried its been over 2 months and nothing .... are Cali people in the same boat with bio appt?

We got our NOA on 07/20, but still no letter for biometrics... really worried now.

It's been 3 months since I got NOA, but I still haven't received biometrics appointment. Is it a general situation for everyone? Worried :(

No need to worry...

If you look at the table for July 2018 filers (that filed through California - CSC) - no one has been scheduled for biometrics. If you starts seeing people add their biometrics appointment date and you still haven't heard after a bunch have been entered then worry. Until then, just continue to "go with the flow."

My understanding is that biometrics are not always done (of course, the fee is not refunded in such cases). I have also heard that biometrics are only good for so many months; thus, they don't want to do to early and have the biometrics "expire" (so to speak) prior to adjudicating the case.

Just keep an eye on the table and see if any CSC filers start receiving appointments.

Yes it is.

Try this one https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

You need to create a new account. Mine has never appeared on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do which is "supposed" to be the "official" one.

ps: up to date Nov 2018 and still nothing about biometrics or anything. 🤦‍♂️
