Hi Guys, I applied on July 3. My removal of conditions app is still pending. Expecting to receive it sometime in August. Also, I didn't apply for I-551 stamp yet as my extension expires end of September (not sure if I need to get I-551 stamp to extend my status further by a year yet). Either way I uploaded my expired green card copy and extension letter and filed online. One of the issues I see in the pdf thats generated later is under "Trips outside US" where it does not automatically calculate the number of days spent outside US (even though while filing it shows the number of days) and it does not check the "trips longer than 6 months" box to indicate "yes/no".It never even asks that specific question in the online app. Hope that's fine and they can calculate the difference based on start and end dates. If they send an RFE, it will be stupid as its the systems fault that it didn't generate proper pdf. Are any of you guys seeing that same issue where it shows dates but does shows blank for the 2 sections above?

We actually saw that at the end when you are allowed to check that it left the "country of citizenship" blank and the "SSN" blank even though we went back and it was entered properly. We also did see where we entered the trips and it calculated it on the input but the total number of days did not come out on the final pdf. Fault of the system?

We just submitted my husband's N-400 after discovering you could do it online today! We had prepared everything already but this was much easier (and better for the environment).

Submitted recent bank statements, 4 years worth of joint tax returns, last 7 years worth of leases with both names, evidence of trips / pictures and a copy of our Facebook timeline (lol) and a bunch of other things.

Hoping for a swift approval!

Yes, you can. Just make sure you update it every 3 weeks (I'm not sure if it was 3 weeks or 30 days), otherwise, the system will delete your application.

Hello everyone

I have a question about our unique N-400 filing situation. I say "unique" because I've been reading these boards, and I haven't yet come across any other couple who are filing under the same circumstances as us.

I just filed an N-400 online on July 2nd, on behalf of my wife, under INA 319(b) provisions which allows a citizen's spouse to apply for naturalization IMMEDIATELY after becoming a permanent resident. No conditions, no wait times, nothing. This provision is available for those married to citizens who work overseas for the US government, US companies, the US military, etc. I guess this provision is in place because it'd be impossible to meet all the conditional and residency requirements if your citizen spouse is posted overseas.

Any other July filers in this situation? If so, it'd be good to compare notes as the process unfolds.

Thanks

I got my biometrics update last Saturday but don't see the biometrics letter under documents section where the notice says it will be uploaded. Not sure if they messed up again. Any one else faced this issue where they saw they were scheduled for biometrics and didn't see the letter uploaded under documents section? (online filers only). Also, anyone else filed while their ROC is pending?

Filed online yesterday. Not looking forward to drive 2 times up and down to the field office, but it beats flying a couple hours every time I need a new passport :)

I got my appointment letter now aswell. It's for July 26th! I wonder if we should carry a copy of expired green card and extension notice to get biometrics done. My greencard number is the same EAC1728400XXX, with NOA of 7/10/17 and biometrics sept 29( had to reschedule since they sent the first biometrics appt to the wrong address).Filing online is so much easier and better than mailing, did a mistake that I got useless lawyers for greencard ROC who didn't bother telling me that I was supposed to receive a biometric appointment within 3 weeks. Wish I had filed online myself, would have saved $ and time. Either way, I do hope we get through within 6 months for citizenship and assuming we will receive our greencard by next month (hope not to receive citizenship prior, which will make the green card useless)

yes, but driving over an hour to the airport, flying from Denver to Los Angeles, driving again to the embassy and then the trip in the other direction is too much of a hassle. Even when it is every 10 year :) compared to just going to the post office :D

Me too! Our local office for N-400 is Atlanta and their processing time is 10.5 - 20 months now so we are hoping for next May but not expecting anything. My husband is taking his Green Card and paper extension letter, his now paper temporary GA DL (Georgia only gives you a DL until the 1 year anniversary of your NOA not your Green Card extension expiration and then if you pay $50 and sit at the DMV for 3 hours until you get someone who knows what is going on then you can get a 4 month temporary paper driver's license), the Biometrics letter, and his passport just in case. Good luck to you!! Fingers crossed for all of us.
