Hi all,

My NOA2 was on June 1st, when you talked about how many days of waiting, do you mean working days and excluding weekends? And for NVC do you mean the local consulate of the beneficiary’s country? Sorry if these are very basic questions but just want to make sure...also, anyone from Hong Kong or China here or where I can find this sub forum(if there’s any)? I will have my package send to my Hong Kong address and will arrange interview in the US consulate in Hong Kong as well. Thank you!

From following many timelines, my research shows anywhere from 16 plus days is when most get to NVC lately. Not really any earlier and A LOT a lot later. Betcha you'll get it this week!

This helps, thanks. I feel a bit more encouraged.:)

I think I'll give it a few days and call back on Friday.  I really hate being on the phone :dead:

Your I-129f will go directly from the California Service Center where it was approved to the NVC office in New Hampshire for several weeks. From there you will obtain your new case # which you will use to schedule your interview, fill out the appropriate forms, and schedule your medical.

You can begin calling the NVC to get your case # no sooner than two weeks, but it seems to be that it's taking more than two weeks right now. B-)

Me too, lol! I'm hard of hearing (ear infection as a baby). Sounds get to my brain later than normal so by the time I "hear" what you've said you've already started on the next thought while i interrupt to answer because I can't hear you've started talking again. I read lips well but I don't do phones, lol. Good luck again!

ME TOO! Mine is hereditary... long line of hearing loss in my family. Phones give me so much anxiety for that reason: the awkward timing once I've realized what was said and/or my misunderstanding what is being said.

The wait time is normally given in raw days meaning from NOA2 to NVC receipt is XX. It seems to be running about 16 days or little more. NVC is referred to the governing body that issues the case numbers. Read more here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center.html  Sub-forums can be found on the blue ribbon above, select the tab for "forums" and scroll 3/4 of the way down the page where you will find the links. For HK the link is here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/94-china/  Keep in mind some country's sub-forum are very active and there are many that are not. But don't pass over the chance that someone will be there to help.

Spend some time at the HK US Embassy website and read up on what the requirements are and what is next. Here is the link: https://hk.usconsulate.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/the-interview/

Lastly, many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer.

If you look at the profile others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Hello everyone! We just received our NOA2 today (June 18th) after 228 days waiting! Yay!! NOA1 was Nov 2nd. Sooo excited to finally reach that next step :D

We are going through the UAE Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as that is where my fiance lives and works. So any info/updates on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Now we start the 2 week wait to contact the NVC Center

Congrats Ben& Jela and welcome to the the wait part 2!! So by the first week of July you can start calling for your NVC case number so sit right back and enjoy the wait!!

OMG.......I called NVC just now and the sweet lady told me they received our paperwork today but we still don't have the NVC number yet. We should most likely get the number tomorrow. So it took 17 days from NOA2 to NVC received. We are celebrating tonight!!!

Well, congrats!!!! So now it's time to prepare all the wonderful trips to the embassy, medical visits and fees and even POE so really happy for you guys and thanks for letting us know because we all have hope it will be within 3 weeks till we can get our NVC number.

So does that mean you have a case number already to schedule your interview?

Hi guys. Just wanted to clarify cause my fiance is really bothered by this. So if we call NVC and get the NVC number already, do we still need to have the mail theyre going to send? Like do we need to bring that to the interview or anywhere along the process?

I believe once you have your NVC # you're able to check the status of your visa online somewhere, and you can still fill out forms and get things done with the number even if the embassy hasn't received it. Once the status of your case says it's arrived at the embassy then you'd be able to schedule the interview, medical, etc.
