Of course , there are ways to make up for it. But in general, spouse visa makes things easier in a way. And I did read people can’t expedite EAD even with an offer.

Maybe not all are successful with their expedites, but I think that has to do more with how they do it. There's a pretty good guide here on VJ and I just followed a case with a French girl who did all those steps and was approved within about a week :) She had gone through six different interviews to get the position but her future employer started to put pressure on her for not having the work authorization. She was really stressed about this so I'm happy everything finally worked out for her.

hmm, we will see what it is. Yes i submitted a dutch birth certificate with an english translation. so that wouldn't be the problem.

Gotcha, good :) That seems to be a common "issue". There was a February filer who was RFIEd for a translation of her birth certificate. She was British...

now I think that if you get married outside of the USA and applied green card out side of the USA is quicker ..

i waited almost a year for the K visa and now seems another year to wait :(

based on my knowledge if you get marriage outside of the USA, you have to apply spouse visa and it takes 2 years to get approval.

From what I know spousal is faster in general. The visa itself can take about a year, but once you arrive in the US I believe you get the green card asap as well, so in the end spousal visa route is actually faster!

Hello all! June 21 filier here! Im a bit concerned though, we did not send two pairs of passport pics we only sent one pair for the both applications. Hope this doesn’t spark an RFE. Anyway here we go another process. Good luck all

Welcome! Hopefully they'll notice when going through your applications and just make two copies themselves of the one copy you submitted. We'll know soon. Anyway should not be too big of a bump in the road. Keep us updated :)

I hope everyone here has received or applied for their SS#. A little update on my wife's SS#. I just hang up with the SSA agent. The 1-800-7721213 number we where given the day we applied and got manual verification....is useless to ask anything related to your situation (at least that was to ours). We applied 5/24/2018 and no SS# or card still. I will be going again today since it has been more than 30 days and nothing!!! We did go last week on Monday (3 weeks by then) and they only verified the information that was given to them the 1st time. At the time they told us they needed approval from USCIS to verify the documents we gave them (I-94, K-1 Visa and birth certificate). This may happen to anybody. Not only can my wife not do anything at all, because most Schools, banks, lease and more thing require SS#.  Hope everybody has a good day and I will post again when we get an answer today.

I just recieved an update via the USCIS app for my AOS. unfortunatly it said "Request for initial evidence was mailed" I have no idea what it could be.

but also this is pretty fast since I send in my application on june 1st. does this mean they are already working on my case. hopefully I will recieve the letter in my mailbox soon, so that I can find out what is wrong with my application.

I also got a request for initial evidence last Thursday, so bummed out. My application was received on May 31st. Fingers crossed to get the letter soon and that it's a quick fix.

Welcome! Seems like we have a few people here who're not hearing back. Keep us updated on your statuses. e-Notifications may never come and NOA1 hardcopies may take time, but I believe in general that checks are usually cashed within a week from arrival at the lockbox. Personally we used the new credit card method and the USCIS reserved an amount I think the day after our package arrived.

A credit card method :D I didn't know we had that option and I may go with that.

Håll ut, y'all.
