Hello, guys, without any update in my uscis account, I got two approval letters for my EAD and AP. Anyone knows when I will get the actual EAD card ? Thanks !

They will send you a tracking code and you can track it from there. Be patient :)

485 Approval Question

Upon approval does this mean one can work in the U.S. and leave the U.S. for only two years?

I am confused about why the AOS from K1 visa is only valid for two years.

Will I lose my job if working in the U.S. when my two years is up?

It is conditional for two years, meaning you will have to file for Removal of Conditions within 90 days before those two years are up for a 10 Year Green Card.

I don’t have updat on my website account at all. No update for the approval even

On October 22nd I also got a letter through saying that my EAD/AP had been approved. The letter said that they would send my card separately. My case online never changed either, it still says “case recieved”

I have not recieved my EAD-AP card STILL.

However, I have my AOS interview tomorrow.

Can someone shed some light because i feel i am in a mess. 😔  We tried to have my name in my husbunds bank account and house bills but i dont have a ssn so it cant be done. I applied for a ssn one month before my i-94 expired. 4 weeks went by after applying and i was told it could not be done because my i94 was close to or just expired (I cant remember what the guy said), so basically i have no documents to prove my marriage is legit except photos, marrige cert, and chat logs. Im sp worried this is not enough. 😞

They never updated on the new website for us (the one with the account). The one without the account updated for us.

An update here, my interview is scheduled. I filed in early April, and the field office is one of the slowest, Denver. The trend has been that people wait for 11 months for their interviews, so I thought mine was going to come in March.

Does this mean all the paperwork and record of criminal or illegal activities were all examined, and I was clear of all? I have not been involved in any illegal activities to the best of my knowledge, but I've heard of cases where one works illegally without even realizing it. I am more anxious than I need to be about such a possibility.

Is interview conducted mostly to double-check what's on the forms, and determine the legitimacy of the marriage (if family-based)?

Marriage-based AOS from H1B

(Employer filed H1B extension before I filed AOS with spouse)

4/4/2018: AOS package (I-130, I-485, AP & EAD) sent

4/6/2018: at 5:00 arrived at Chicago office

4/15/2018: Sunday at 22:30, received email/text notification

4/19/2018: NOA (I-130, I-485, AP&EAD) arrived in mail

4/20/2018: Biometrics app letter arrived in mail

5/4/2018: Biometrics done

5/7/2018 (p.m.): I-485 and I-765 Status changed to "Fingerprint Review Was Completed"

5/9/2018 (p.m.): I-485 status changed to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview"

8/20/2018 (p.m.): I-765 status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced"

8/24/2018: Received combo card in mail

11/13/2018: Online status says "Interview was scheduled"

11/19/2018: Interview notice in mail

12/03/2018: Online status changed back to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" once again, I freaked out

12/18/2018: Attended the interview, approved on spot, status changed to "Card is being produced" within an hour

12/21/2018: "Card was mailed to me"

H1B extension (employer) at the same time as marriage-based AOS

3/23/2018: "Case Was Received"

10/16/2018: Approval letter arrives at the employer's office, online status still not updated

Approved at the interview and given VERY stern I structio a to apply for release of conditions 90 days to the two year mark.

waited an hour after interview time but interview was 10 minutes. The officer said they had all of our paperwork and just asked if there had  been any run ins with the law.

very comfortable and professional interview officer.

I can just say that I was somewhat afraid of coming back on AP because I read about some bad experiences people had but it was a breeze in a sense. Philadelphia airport was nearly empty when I was coming back. The first officer was totally cheerful, talking to me about 'pierogi' ( Polish food) his mother-in-law makes and the secondary inspection lasted maybe 7 minutes... (the woman only asked if I was still married and how long I was away). I was expecting it to last a couple of hours. You have to realize that the secondary inspection always happens for AP holders, it's nothing unusual.

That said, there were some things that you just need some patience about. Before boarding the flight at London Heathrow they checked all of my hand luggage ( airplane crew), then on the domestic flight in the US I had to have a secondary inspection again ( was brief) and at home my checked-in bag turned out to be searched, I found a note inside...

And they did ask for AP every time... I was afraid it is not so common but it must be because everybody seemed to have known what it was!

But I must admit I cannot complain, was treated well but my feeling is it very much depends on what kind of person lets you in...

so good luck, I hope you will have no issues coming back!

Hi! I'm a Detroit filer too! Could I ask how long it took to have your interview scheduled since you received the notification of "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" ? Thanks!
