I came in 45 minutes early. They were not kidding, they asked me to come back  after 15 minutes. I did not have to go out, just wait on the new applications waiting room.

My schedule is 10:10. I went up the stairs, turn right. (Left is the oath-takers waiting area). I got interviewed about 11:30. There were people there waiting since 8:30. My wife went up with me. She waited at the waiting area.

Interview, was not what I was expecting. It was text-book interview. Very emotionless. Most of the time was taken by verification of information on the application, and the yes-no questions.

The "English test" took less than 30 seconds. The civics took maybe a minute.

Questions:

What is freedom of religion?

Name one state that borders Canada.

What ocean is on the East Coast of the United States?

How many U.S. Senators are there?

When was the constitution written?

When must all men register for the Selective Service?

After than, I was asked if I wanted to take the oath at 2:30 pm. I said yes. I went out for lunch, went back at 1:30. Went up, turned left, found a sit. At 2:30, they asked families to go down the auditorium to find a sit. They asked the oath-takers to form a line on the left and right, because there were two people who would take the oath-taking schedule form as well as the green card. They also gave the citizen "started pack" as well as a small flag. We went down to the auditorium as soon as they give the packs, and then the star spangled banner. People were called to stand up as soon as they hear their country of origin, and then the oath. As we sat down, we were US citizens. Finally, the pledge of allegiance and the certificate was handed one at a time.

Hey guys, so happy I found this thread.  I applied 12/8/17, and now my status is showing 11 days as the estimated wait time.  Has anyone ever passed that wait time?  I guess I want to know if I should be excited that my interview might be scheduled in 11 days?

Yes. Mine passed 10 days ago and now says "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." Estimated completion is December and I filed in Nov. 2017.

They seemed to be moving so fast through July - October applicants, but now looks like the progress has stalled 😣 I hope they get to us November applicants soon. Please post in this thread when you get your interview scheduled, to keep our hope alive...

I brought my spouse, but my IO didn't bother interviewing him (who was waiting outside)!     I guess I sent more than enough supporting documents for my I-751 application!

My IO asked me how we met, if my spouse has visited my hometown and met my parents, who usually cooks, who usually manages our finances, if we're thinking about adopting children, etc.!

My IO asked me to show her our joint condo ownership certificate since I told her that we bought a condo 1.5 years ago.    I also showed her our 2017 joint tax return transcript.   :joy:

For the citizenship part, I scored the first 6 questions correctly!  :joy:

- What do we call the first ten amendments of the Constitution?

- We elect a President for how many years?

- What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?

- Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

- When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?

- Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States?

My IO asked me to read "George Washington was the first president of the United States." and write "Lincoln was president during the Civil War."

My combo interview took 30 minutes!

I don't think it's accurate. Mine turned zero 2-3 weeks ago, and still nothing.

The worst part of Seattle office experience is it looks like they go into hibernation mode every once in awhile. It doesn't seem to happen to other offices. I haven't seen any reports of interviews scheduled in Seattle in 6 weeks. Complete radio silence.

Yeah, definitely looks like it. It is really painful not to be able to rely on those timelines/or to plan for international trips. At this point, I am guessing that nothing would happen for me (November 2017 filer) until next year.

I am two weeks behind you. Waiting for the citizenship to be able to start K - 1 process. It is so frustrating to think that if I had moved just to the other side of the mountains my fiancee would have been with me already. Oh well.

Fellow Seattle peeps our waiting has been an agony, however; most of us will be done early next year. Seattle seems to be trying to pick up pace as I’ve been following another site. Currently they’ve been taking 14 months for total competition on average. The latest I know of is a September 29th 2017 filer who had his interview on November 8th 2018.

November 2017 filers should start expecting interview notifications next month for January 2019 interview dates, and those of us December 2017 filers should expect interview notifications in January 2019 for February 2019 dates.

Seattle currently has about 20,000 pending N 400s among one of the highest in the nation. Houston office has the crown jewel  nationwide with 44,000 pending N 400s. They’re taking close to 24 months to sort this mess out and it just keeps piling everywhere. Dallas trails at second place with about 27,000.  Let’s support one another and don’t forget to update changes. Happy thanksgiving in advance!
