My lawyer sent the package on 3/2, they received it on the 6th. I am filing by my own 

(divorce) and my green card was expired yesterday 3/9. I don’t know what comes after this but I have to be positive, no negative thoughts ... I couldn’t file before because I needed the final divorce certificate which I got on 2/27. I am not sure if they will reject it ‘cause my green card is already expired even though my lawyer said  they got it before the green card expiration date. Still waiting ... Question, how long after they received the package is the NOA dated?

Hi everyone! We sent our packet by express mail 3/3 and it was received at the VSC on 3/5. Checks were cashed yesterday on 3/9. No NOA1 yet. I’ll update the spreadsheet as soon as I get on a laptop or desktop. 

 

We cut it real close since his green card expires tomorrow! It makes me nervous not to have proof in hand of his status, but at least we can be fairly certain the petition was accepted.

You should be fine since they received it before your card expired. Not sure about the NOA date question. Good luck.

VSC received my package on 3/5/2018 but check has not been cashed yet .

I used a personal check for the payment (Wells Fargo), do you guys think there was an issue? this is getting me worried

Personal checks should be fine! I used one too and did the same for K1 and AOS.

Hi everyone! Mailed our package on March 6th - have updated my timeline and added to the spreadsheet. Good luck to everyone, and let's hope things start to speed up rather than slowing down even more...

 

I am even more anxious than usual about this one (which I didn't think was possible) as I am expecting to start a new job in the next 3-4 weeks. GC expires April 22, so I should have time, but would definitely like to have NOA in hand when I have to present GC on first day of work!

 

Side note - I had to make a trip back to the UK for my grandfather's funeral and returned to JFK last night. Couldn't use my GC at the machines because it's too close to expiry (naturally I started freaking out). I got to the agent at the desk and he said "you should have filed this six months ago" - obviously I replied saying you can't until the 90 day window opens. Then he says "well why didn't you file it 3 months ago?", so again I say it's a 90 day window from the date of expiry, my expiry is still around 45 days away and I have in fact filed, I just don't have the receipt yet. He doubles down and says "you should have filed it months ago, it could take 6-7 months to turn up". I am very tired/sad/frustrated at this point, so start explaining that I know I won't get the 10 yr GC for at least a year, but I should have the NOA within a week or two, and he replies with "they say that, but it could take months, then you won't be able to travel or work, so you should have done this earlier". I know the process well enough by now to know he's just not right, but such unnecessary fear-mongering! CBP agents really shouldn't be handing out immigration process advice when they do not know what they are talking about...

First off, really sorry about your grandfather.  Secondly, that CBP officer sounds awful - I'm so sorry you had to go through that! You were absolutely in the right! I didn't know that the machines don't work as you approach your expiration - you're still more than a month away from that, that's crazy and unnecessarily stressful!

Not sure how this google docs thing works but we are march 2018 filers so I want to follow this thread and also participate with the google doc so I can see where everyones proccess is anlong with ours. So any help on joining would be great. Thanks in advance
