If we do go ahead and book our trip and we get notification that the interview is scheduled for when we are out of the country  how difficult is it to reschedule or is that just a bad idea?

Hi, My case status showed completion date of Dec 2018. I am a NYC filer but live in Westchester County and I have already attended my interview. I have been waiting for oath ceremony to be scheduled for over a month now.

Thanks. No I don't. I received my extended Green Card on Jan 18 and applied for citizenship on Feb 18

On the day of my interview the officer mentioned that would make some changes in regards to my trip. She did not give details and I did not asked why either. I thought it was something simple that would not affect my case.

Now over 2 months trying to guess what went wrong, a friend of mine asked me if when I filled out the form I put the flight tickets date or real date of my entrance to the USA which is normally one day after since check in time for all of my international trips took place at night. He knows someone that the case delayed almost 4 months... So I realized that was my stupid mistake... @Sukie @CTgal18

That’s so annoying though. Why would it take 4 months for someone to verify some travel dates, seems like it could be done a lot sooner. Ugh. I hope you get scheduled soon and it doesn’t take two more months to get an answer.   🙁

We always have to be so careful with dates like this, as we leave Australia on a flight at 00:50.  But...we actually pass through immigration the night before.  We tried to be consistent and use the dates we passed through immigration since that is the date on the outbound record.  I cannot see how this would hold you up, though, Anabless.  Still pulling for you to hear something soon!

Something curious happened. On Monday the 27th, I checked the status of my husband on the web and it was still the same review but we called to ask about the case (since in processing time it was coming out that washington Dc took between 10: 5 and 18 months) Well when called they told us  the same thing that was under review and I asked if we could have more information than on the web, then the man told me he was going to try to pass me with a supervisor, we were like 5 minutes on the phone and he told me that They were very busy and if I could call in other moment and well I appreciated and hang out. Like an hour later I received an email of uscis saying that they had scheduled the interview of the citizenship and they had sent us the letter with the scheduled date, I wnated to coment this maybe can help in something because one hour before calling the case status It was still the same and two days before we had received the same email as always that still reviewing the case. Good luck to all of you still waiting👍🏻

Just wanted to let you all know that my husband had his i-400 interview/civics & English test and, as predicted here on VisaJourney, it ended up being a joint interview for the Removal of Conditions i-751 as well. The interview was on August 20, and we were the last people to be called. I showed up in case I needed to be present, and they ended up calling me into the interview and having me stay for the entire two parts (even though I was probably only needed for two minutes of it). It went really well, the civics/English test went great. My husband wasn't super familiar with the wording on the Oath of Allegiance (it's been a while and I helped him fill out the application originally) but luckily she showed it to him and let him "summarize in his own words what it meant to him" and whether he agreed with it. We did the Removal of Conditions questions after that and our only problem there was that I didn't think to bring additional photos, but she still marked us as recommended for approval.

 

It took them over a week to update the status online. On August 27 we got both the notification that "we approved your application" and "you attended your interview" on the uscis.gov/account website (although it actually didn't update until the next morning) and the other USCIS website showed on the 27 that "oath ceremony will be scheduled". On the 28th we got notified that the i-751 was approved.

 

We're in the last steps now...

Thanks so much! Congrats to you as well about the upcoming oath ceremony. When we’re you notified about the oath ceremony being scheduled? Trying to get a sense for how long it takes in St. Louis between interview and the ceremony.

I am changing my name so I have to wait longer then most.  I got notice of oath 6 weeks after interview.  However I live in souther Illinois and my district only does oath ceremonies 4 times a year. So you will problably be scheduled for September or October.  I found this link I hope it helps. I don’t know why bankruptcy court dates with them.

Adding my wife's interview date below - 10/03/18. She has a pending I-751, so we are not getting our hopes up just yet. Most likely, she will get rejected, and they will reschedule after conditions are removed from her green card...at least that's what I've heard from other Chicago filers. I will certainly accompany her to the N400 interview, just in case they decide to conduct a combined interview; but I know that's being too optimistic.
