Hello everyone, 

 

I know this is a side question but hopefully any of you guys can help. I have gotten my EAD, am I able to use it to return to school? I was an original F-1 holder and I stopped going to school after I got married. Now I want to comeback school to finish up my degree. I know I should wait until I get my green-card but seeing if I can do anything earlier...

The reason why I'm asking is I got a notice of action to get the updated I-693 to the interview , I need to go to the doctors office to get a new one , just want to make sure there would be enough time to that after I get the intervie was scheduled notice

More details in my timeline for anyone curious.

Attended my interview a couple weeks ago. EB-2 category, it took ~15 minutes, nothing unusual, good signs given throughout. Received "Card in Production" notice ~20 minutes after leaving the office. Card arrived at lawyers exactly a week later.

Updates on my case:

 

Received notification from the account on the DHS  site. Upon logging in, saw this change on I-765.

 

August 15, 2018

We are producing your card and will mail it to you

You do not need to do anything at this time

We will mail your Green Card, employment authorization document (EAD), or combo card (EAD and advance parole) to the address you gave us. It may take up to 120 days to deliver your new card.

 

Right before received this update in the email, I had reviewed the case processing times and saw that my case fell within the window.

Sent a request and entered 2 SRs - 1 each for I-131 and I-765.

 

No changes to the I-131 status on the dhs site.

No changes to any status on the casestatus site.

 

Questions to all:

1. With the above status change only reflected in the I-765, and not with I-131, does it mean that only the EAD card is being produced and not the ComboCard?

2. Does the status change at all on both the sites to reflect synchronization? Does it matter if it doesn't change?

 

 N400--> Naturalization: 80 days (Jul 21 - Oct 21) - Timeline

7/14/20 - Application mailed.

7/17/20 - Application received.

7/24/20 - Text notification received with a WAC number.
7/31/20 - 797 received. Printed on 7/26/20.

1/06/21 - Case transferred.

1/13/21 - Received transfer notice in mail.

1/21/21 - Biometrics applied.

1/26/21 - Received biometrics reuse notice in mail. 

2/11/21 - Called for an update on my case and was told file is in local office.
