Do I need petitioners birth certificate for interview?

Hi guys! I’ve been reading on here that the US passport isn’t good enough for the interview? My fiancé (petitioner) has lost his birth certificate so would a copy of his passport suffice for the interview?

(also do they want my birth certificate for the interview as well?)

thanks!!!

You need to take a copy of the entire 129f packet you sent when you started this process. Copies of BC should be on there. But just on a note here, you can always go back to county and get a copy of your BC issued. It’s not big deal.

I didn’t include BC... We only included all pages of petitioners passport pages

You need to read the instructions for your embassy, most likely yes.

What?

A passport is not a birth certificate, you need to bring what they ask for.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get a new one.

Also be sure to check if they require a long form version, i'm not familiar with your country.

You can find more details here.

You do NOT néed anything from your American petitioner at your London interview except his/her affidavit of support and one proof of income. If he doesn't make enough to sponsor you, then nothing from him. London will take one I-134 affidavit of support from whomever makes enough to sponsor, for example his parent. 1000% sure of that.

No copy of I-129F packet

No proof of relationship

No photo albums, ring receipts, Skype logs, love letters, travel receipts....

Yes to your (the beneficiary's) birth certificate. And it must be the "long form" with your parents' names on it. Yes to your passport as well.

If they’re asking for it, you bring it. Why risk getting a denied visa or prolong processing because you just didn’t wanna bother?!?!?!

I haven’t received my NOA2 yet or a list of what I need for interview. I’m just preparing myself now for what I will need. I have just been reading that that may be needed so needed some clarification. If the list stated I need it I wouldn’t be asking on here. No need to be rude.

I am the beneficiary so I have my birth certificate. It seems that’s all they need. The website doesn’t say the petitioner (us citizen) needs his birth certificate for the interview. That’s all I’m worried about as he has lost his

I wasn’t being rude and I wasn’t talking about interview stage. I was talking petition stage. You should have sent copies of birth certificates. It says so on the checklist from USCIS.

Okay, no worries. We used the guide here on visajourney to complete the packet. This is what it says;

Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years ora copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.

Since it says OR... we sent a copy of all pages of my petitioners US passport. I was just double checking we didn't need his birth certificate for the interview and only needed mine. I am not worried about the initial packet. I've submitted everything they have asked for so I am not expecting an RFE

Its best to check with someone who had their interview in the UK since embassies can be very specific, and the info provided isn't always totally inclusive.

I'm bringing everything to be on the safe side, and most people will suggest that, but if its a burden for you, just try checking people who have recently done it, see if there's a regional forum for the UK.
