Welcome to the thread! There is also a facebook group - Minnesota AOS Filers, by the way.

To answer your question - We did a walk-in at the ASC (Application Support Center) in Saint Paul, and had no issues. Look at my signature below which lists our timeline.  In a nutshell:

03/16/2018 - Priority Date

04/06/2018 - Received Biometrics Appt Notice for 04/18/2018

04/12/2018 - Biometrics early walk-in.

I know that you can do an early walk-in; however, I am not sure if you can do a walk-in past your appointment date. If I had to guess, I would think that it is fine to do so. I have seen people successfully do that and I have also seen others reschedule their Biometrics appointment. Your call.

You will get the notice for Biometric within 30-40 days from the date USCIS received your I-485, in my case it was 32 days. I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Congratulations Fellow Colombian and future US citizen! I am very happy for you. Will this be the conditional card or the 10 year green card? *Since you waited for 15 months.

Thank you . Even though it was a long wait, I still get the conditional green card since we haven't been married for two years yet.

Awww I’m so happy for you! Where did you see new card is being produced? On the USCIS website or case tracker? That’s literally 4 months for you!! I’m hoping that’s the same for me too! My PD is October 15, 2018. Gosh!! You just gave me hope! Lol. Yes! This forum is way better than ***removed***. Didn’t really like that one.

I’m Jamaican! That’s where I want to go for Christmas!! Gosh that’s such a bummer that you’re missing it. Hopefully you won’t miss anything else!! Please keep me up to date!

Got my EAD/AP card in hand 2/8/19.

USCIS updated my case status on website and sent texts and emails and also i797 in the mail. After card being produced, it changed to we have mailed your card then usps has picked up your card (tracking number provided) and finally changed to usps delivered card to you.

So yay I got my card but now what? Lol.

Not sure if I should inform my school even though I don’t need it to work on-campus. I don’t plan to get another job til graduation.

Already missed my trip abroad this weekend so likely not to travel abroad until after graduation in the summer.

Anyway, the wait continues for the ultimate prize, the GC! My I-485 status still says name change updated (90+ days)

You may be able to get reclassified as resident for tuition purposes. The University of Minnesota makes it retroactive to 1 year. So you might even be able to get a refund for the difference between resident tuition and out of state tuition. You'd have to double check.

This is the form the University of Minnesota uses. https://admissions.tc.umn.edu/PDFs/ResidencyReciprocity.pdf

I was not asked for a new medical.  Medical date was March 6th 2017.  AOS submitted September 2017 and my interview was January 9th 2019.

I am surprised that they did not ask for a new medical. The overwhelming majority of the population on these forums swear that you need new medical, and in many cases interview decisions have been halted till new medicals were submitted. I am glad you didn't need a new one, but probably one of the rare cases I've read so far. Also, congrats!!

Hi folks!

So I'm positive I've done something wrong with my timeline since it's showing some weird thing approved that I've never done (sigh) but just an update.

We submitted AOS on 23 Jan.
Recieved 25th Jan.

Payments all taken 29th Jan.

NOA/reciepts arrived Feb 6th with PD of Jan 25th.

Biometrics complete 19th Feb.

Hoping for combo card soonish but at the same time I don't mind if it takes a while because I want/need to go back to Australia in October and there's no way that any decent job I could get will give me a month off so soon, so as soon as I get EAD I'll just get casual jobs waitressing or bartending until I leave for home and then start looking for a better job when I get back.  Thankfully husband and I are both very very very lucky to have excellent savings and he has a great job that will support us both comfortably (helps that we live in a very low cost of living area) until I can work.

Within a month of moving from the MSP field office to the Buffalo, NY one - our interview is scheduled!  I'm happy, but it definitely speaks to the incredibly uneven workload distributed throughout the country...yikes.

We had waited for about 11 months in Minneapolis.  AOS from K-1 was filed in early March 2018.

Interesting, because as of today, both MSP and Buffalo locations say "12 Months to 23 Months" for Family-based adjustments. Unless K-1 cases are handled differently, I wonder why MSP is taking SOOOO long. Sheer incompetence?

I've been waiting since November 2018 so I may be am looking at a super long wait lol. 😂

A very good question indeed.  From people's timelines, it looks like the most recent Buffalo K-1 AOS filers have taken 3 - 5 months to complete; so, if those are accurate, it seems like the estimation is way off.  I definitely think incompetence has at least something to do with it!  I just started working for the federal government and the amount of hilarious BS is pretty amazing, even in a relatively functional agency.  It seems like the staff and resources dedicated to MSP should be increased by a lot.

And yes - unfortunately, you might be in for quite the wait :(
