Sounds like you have a temporary work contract in Saudi and that is about all, perhaps reapply when you have something more permanent?

Hi, my employment contract here is every year... all foreign workers here in saudi arabia are all contractual employees.. it can be renewed yearly upon agreement of both parties...  so i just don't see any reason for denial knowing that I am receiving good salary monthly and at the same time, I have a free ticket every year as part of my employee entitlement...

I would re-apply again for sure after visiting UK& CANADA and this would be my last attempt.. I will just visit again europe if not again my lucky to get B2 visa in the future...

@Filguy29, like you said, I believe you should wait at least a year. I can tell from experience: I had to apply three times for a tourist visa, and finally got it at the third try. I’m Colombian and this is not an easy country to get one of those. Like you, I didn’t have any intention to immigrate either, but my situation was very similar to yours:

I used to work in a faraway, rural area and rented a place. I had a very good, stable job, visited my family frequently in the city. I was single, etc. The first time I applied I was outiright denied. Then I waited 6 months and tried again with the same result. Then I waited a little over a year. Things had changed in my life though: I got another job in the city, moved back with my family, got some loans to refurnish and redo my room (when coming to live back with my family, all my old room’s stuffs were gone, lol) and I had traveled overseas. The last time, I got the visa.

I have a cousin who applied for a visa and got it right away at the first try. She was single and had a stable job, but had never traveled overseas. She did have a mortgage though and lived with her mom.

They don’t ask for this sort of things but I guess they already know. That’s why I advise you to wait until 2019 to apply. In the mean time, travel to Canada and enjoy your vacations. If you can afford it, get stuff on your name where you roots are. If you’re in Arabia only for work, get a small house in the Philippines, or a car or something to show roots. Invest in something there too. Just show that you have roots.

Hello thank you for sharing your experienced with your tourist visa.. I think it really depends on the mode of the CO.. Could u imagine my colleague who got 10yrs visa and at the time previous work visa to the u.s.. when he renewed his u,s visa last month, he was denied. I have my own house in my country and monthly payments to my sports bike too but it is nothing since it was never asked what  have invested in my country.

Yeah you are right.. I will just enjoy my incoming trip to UK & Canada nextyr and hopefully by 2019 I am now ready to re-apply for the third and last attempt...

You just said you are on an annual temporary contract, have no ties to Saudi and none presumably in your home Country.

I am here since oct 2012 and 5 years now... my contract is every year will expire and renewal every yr too... when it comes to strong ties, I don't think so.. my contract now is valid from oct2017-oct2018..

by oct2018-oct2019 it will be again another contract and this will be my 6yrs now in saudi. does having this years of service still not be enough to consider as strong ties?

Why? just a visa.

Hundreds of other countries, some presumably more wonderful than the US to visit.

I don't know but getting denied twice its like really disappointing.. Sometimes you really don't know where did I go wrong and you cant even defend yourself..

I have been to asia, dubai, some parts in EU and hopefully UK & Canada soon and that's why to complete my travel destinations, I applied for U.S..

anyhow, I am thanking everyone who shared their thoughts..somehow, it lessens my disappointments and give positive outlook on the other side..

It doesn't sound as if you have many strong ties to either Saudi Arabia or the Philippines.

It's more likely than not that you will just keep being denied until and unless something materially changes in your circumstances.

But the house and monthly payments to the sports bike is in the Philippines or Saudi Arabia (where you are living now)?

You need to show more than just one or two ties.

As for the part about "never asked"---it's not up to the CO to expressly ask what ties you have, it's more on your end to offer that information up during your interview.

this confuses me.. what else I should provide just to have strong ties? and there are some filipinos who got tourist visa who has always the same situation as mine.. they are even working here less than years of service as mine and they are single too and their families are in Philippines.

I have also a friend who applied for u.s visa.. his sister is working in u.s immigration..hes married and his family are all in Philippines but yet his even denied too. hes already 7yrs working here and having good salaries too...

To make a conclusion, only the CO knows the real thing which is sometimes I consider as unfair because even if you bring land titles, huge amount in your account, if they will not ask for it, then I can say its useless.

I was approved by Canadian Tourist visa on my second attempt..knowing also that getting Canada is not easy and my first refusal was bcoz of strong ties that was 2yrs ago.. and I re-applied in Oct2017 and they grant it.

No one can tell you what exactly constitutes "strong ties". It is intentionally not written down anywhere so that those with bad intentions cannot game the system.

You just need to be able to satisfy the consular officer that you are seeking a visa as a bona tide tourist and will return to your country of origin after your authorised stay expires. To date, the CO hasn't been satisfied with your documents and explanation.

Not everyone is the same, even with similar circumstances.

By law, the embassy must presume you are an intending immigrant until they are satisfied that you aren't.
