Huh I thought we need to compete the DS-160 form after we obtain our case number from NVC

Mans what copy of our packet to our fiancé? What packet do you mean?

Like the affidavit of support needs to be mailed prior to our interview to the beneficiary.

But we need to do that after NVC is done with our case and sent it out, since it needs to be up to date and with current delays facing us we shouldn’t do that just now

It's the beneficiary who will fill up the form DS-160. This form needs the case number from NVC to complete it.

hello everyone, we got our approvall NOA2 approval notice tru uscis last dec 11, but when we got the hard copy of our noa2 approval tru mail, it says our case notice date of approval was Dec 08, 2018.  How many more weeks to wait before we call the NVC?  Any advice as to what to do and prepare while waiting.  My Senior Chief fiance is back here in the Philippines and spending the Yuletide Season and will stay for 36 days, would it give us the chance to call the NVC after 2 weeks of being approved, or we wait for 4 weeks as what the NOA 2 notice stated?

Thank you all for your kind attentions and we are sending our prayers to all who have been anxiously waiting for NOA2.  I will personally go to the Church where I and my fiance wrote a special request to grant our prayers of approval.  xo :)

Hello, as what I heard from a pinay, she's on her 6th week waiting for NVC. Her fiance called NVC everyday for their case number. Maligayang Pasko Po!

Guys, I have a question. Do I need to have original documents of financial papers from my fiance? Affidavit of Support, bank statements etc. Does he have to MAIL me them or can he just send me copies by email? Some people have been saying that it might take weeks to get these papers and I dunno really why?

My fiancé sent original paperwork from Egypt by FedEx and it took 3 days.  It's expensive, but I think it's 3 days worldwide, I think.

I'd say regular mail. I know the Affidavit of Support at least needs a wet signature, so you can't email that. I plan on sending everything at one time (it'll probably take a small box, lol) and swallowing the cost of sending certified or with FedEx/UPS to ensure it gets there, and gets there quickly. It's expensive, but worth it for this purpose, I think.

Håll ut, y'all.

Just a few more days before Christmas, we were planning to get married on Dec 31, but we obviously need to change it now. :(

Anyway, are you guys planning your weddings already?

I kind of want to plan it but kinda don't want to at the same time because I don't wanna jinx it.

Don't plan. It's setting yourself up for possible disappointment because there is no way to plan or predict this process that we're all currently in. It will only add to the anxiety and frustration you likely already have in awaiting the next step/answer.

My fiancé and I never started planning a wedding when we got engaged in April because we knew this process was unpredictable. We're likely doing a courthouse thing after he gets here so that we can be legally married and move on to the next step(s) towards naturalization. The wedding is just a party - it isn't a prerequisite for marriage. The marriage is what matters. You can always have a wedding/reception later down the road. For us personally, it's financial. It costs so much for this process, we know realistically we can't afford the wedding we want right now anyhow. We do plan to have one maybe next year, or 2019, when we can enjoy the planning part of it and can put more money into it. I am a strong believer that partying aside, we all deserve a glorious day surrounded by both families (if possible) and friends, those who have supported us from day one, celebrating this milestone and this accomplishment we have all fought for. So I do recommend that. :)

I told him the same thing. A simple court house wedding will do. I am not really looking forward for a lavish one because I know that we still have steps to do after getting married like AOS so we will need money for that too. Plus the costs of this process is not a joke either. I just wish for a speed up so we can all breath and move forward. I am tired of waiting but will keep on fighting. :(

I told my bosses that I would be leaving by the end of the year. :bonk:

It just seems so stupid that I was so naive to think like that.

I had my fiance call twice now with no avail.

If we don't get approved next week, we will be waiting until January.

He is in the middle of booking a flight for me for Valentine's Day because it doesn't look like I will be leaving anytime soon.

My fiancé (the beneficiary) did the same. We really thought he'd be here by the end of this year, so we thought it'd be ok. We definitely jumped the gun on some things, and if we could go back and do it over, we'd do a lot of things differently. But all we can do is push forward with what we have now. I'm planning on going to Sweden in February or March to visit for a couple of weeks, because I'm not thinking he'll be over here before then. It's definitely stressful. Financial stress doesn't help the stress we're already stressing about, LOL.

Exactly - we weren't prepared for the amount of costs! AOS is INSANE. As much as we're all spending on this, from beginning to end, is about as much as one would pay for a basic wedding, lol. At this point, I would be happy - and ready - to go down to the courthouse the weekend after he gets here because I'm so ready to be married to him. I've been ready, but even more so since we got engaged last spring. When you find your person, you just want to start living your life together. A wedding used to be something I dreamed about. Now I hardly think about one.
