Hello guys!

I am from Brazil and my fiancee is a USC, we're in a bona fide relationship and all we want is to do is live together.

However, we aren't that keen on showing off our life on internet. We do have a couple of posts about each other but I don't plan on posting anything about getting engaged or about our wedding. We're really young and most people don't approve our marriage, so posting about it would only result in enormous headaches. Both our families know and approve our relationship, we just don't want to deal with nosey people, especially since we're gonna live in a small town in Oklahoma.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to act single. I'm still posting some pictures with him and sharing funny stories every now and then, and it's still going to show "in a serious relationship with..." I just don't want to deal with people talking about our engagement/marriage.

Is that going to affect my case? Has everyone had their Facebook looked at?

FB is not a top evidence and it's kinda weak. We did nothing on our FBs at all and got approved just fine.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Quality evidence is always best, if you need to use Facebook you have problems.

No, we have plenty of evidence, thank God. We met while I was at an exchange program so we have plenty of pictures together, including prom pictures and all.

I was just worried because I've heard about couples that got in trouble because they didn't have anything about the engagement on their Facebook

I believe adjudicators don't check it, some embassies does check it. But no you don't have to change a profile for this. We added just in case but well into the process (and because I live far from home calling everyone would be weird as there was no engagement party yet I wanted to let my family and friends know beforehand)

you're gonna hear a lot of things during this process. it takes a looong time to get thru from start to finish. you're gonna hear about friends of cousins who know this guy who has a brother whose dad got denied because of xyz even though they swear up and down abc.. and so on and so forth lol. don't get me wrong - don't ever feel bad about asking questions! it's a scary, long, nerve wracking journey. but in the future try not to let all that junk phase you. people have WILD misconceptions about immigration and listening to them will only make your stress ten times worse. also fwiw we are also on the younger side of the scale too and just last week got my husband's aos approved and we didn't submit a single thing from social media at all.

Hi! I'm also from brazil and we didn't update to engaged on facebook either for the exact same reasons. My interview was last tuesday and we got approved!

Ialso met him while I was livingin the US with a J1 visa in 2014.

we provided a lot of evidence to USCIS and at my interview, they didn't ask for anything else. So just relax and you are going to be fine.

There are some CO's that are FB obsessed and even have asked for passwords to check accounts and others couldn't care less
about your facebook. Brazil is not a "let me see your fb" kind of embassy so you should be ok with other quality relationship evidence you
have accumulated over time.

The more you get nervous the more you create problems.

This ...

It all depends on CO .. i have seen couple of posts of CO's asking about facebook

However OP, if you dont have facebook you should be fine. Just be prepared to answer if CO asks you about facebook
