Hi!

What did you write to your congressman?

I'm really depressed, more of five months are already gone, and I don't have the combo card yet!!!!!

I know very well the feeling.

I told them that I had done 2 SR without answer. That my EAD was over 100 days without action. Things like that. Besides contacting my congressman, I also contacted the Ombudsman office. I don't know who helped more, but after contacting them the USCIS sent me a RFE

Today I received a message from the new USCIS account saying that they had taken an action in my EAD. I checked and says that my case was approved. Well, why say first that my card was being produced and just after says was approved? Doesn't matter. It was approved and I am happy.:D

What is the benefit of Verify my Identity on the new USCIS website?

I'm really unsure at this point. It seems like we can access everything without verification.  Maybe when you do, you have access to digital copies of approval notices or more sensitive info? But I'm just guessing. We shall see.

So what happens if your medical from K1 exceeds one year before you get your green card? Unless my husband gets approved for his GC by the end of April, his medical will expire. Will USCIS let you know if you need a new medical? Can it be from your family doctor or does it have to be a civil surgeon?

They dont need to let you know because you know the date you took it. There are multiple posts around this.

Most probably not a RFE, you may still be called to the interview and at the interview date they will point out your expired medical and request that you take a new one and submit back to them. There are cases like this where people are still approved but only need to retake the medical.

I get that they will ask for it if we get an interview, but if we do not, will they still request an updated medical. I guess my question is have people been approved (without an interview) with an expired medical?

Unlikely. USCIS needs to have your medical up to date.

I just checked the new USCIS account saying that I-131 and I-765 are approved today and they sent a notice by mail. Did you receive EAD card yet? I wonder how long it takes to receive EAD.
