Maybe I will look into cruises that go to manilla where I can visit only manilla for a couple weeks. Meet her. Spend time. come back home and stary k1?

You would still need to fly at some point or another no matter what.

Again please stop spreading your false assumptions because they are not true AT ALL. There have been many people here on VJ that have been denied for a tourist visa, only for later on be approved for a K1 or CR1 with no problem what so ever. My wife is one of those that got denied for a tourist visa only to get approved for a K1 fiance visa with no problems whatsoever.

The only thing for the OP to tell his gf if they go for a tourist visa is to NEVER LIE.

Never said it will prevent her from getting a visa. It will affect her chances though. There's a reason why they ask questions if you've previously applied for and if granted or denied visa to the US on the DS forms and during the interview. Those are critical info.

If she gets denied though and odds are stacked against her it will affect her chances of getting other forms of visas like K1 or CR1.

No.......Denials for weak ties to home country will have no effect on an immigrant visa like K-1 or Cr-1.....none.

It would only affect her chances is if she lies on the questions. Because they will review what was asked and the responses given.

Like I said before just stop commenting because your spreading false assumptions.

The most common reason for denial of B2 visa is because the CO suspects intent to immigrate (lack of strong ties).  That is NEVER a concern if the same person is the applicant for an immigrant visa.

That's true. And as a Filipino I can tell you that I have fellow Filipinos who would try all means to get to the US including marrying a US citizen to get to your country and dumping their American husbands once they get their green card. The US embassy is well aware of this. And previous denials could indicate that.

Not if they were denials for weak ties to her country regarding a non-immigrant visa........because an immigrant visa does not require strong ties to home country.......

You will not be out any money, it is not you who applies she does, if she wants to have a go let her.

You are correct as well about that. I have a niece na that has came back for a 2nd time to USA under a work visa for a year. She has already stated that she does not plan on going back at the end of her visa and will try to find a way to stay.

I can't blame your niece. The US despite it's many flaws is a very appealing country. It's kinda sad as incidents like that and the example I've previously given affect those who will apply in the future.

My girlfriend is a honest person. I told her if we go througg b2 to be confident amd never lie. If they were to bring up why I can't go to just simply state I have acrophobia aswell as a strong fear of heights.

If I met her anywhere in the world without flyingand applied for k1 later after returning home why would I need to fly to do that? K1 states I have to meet her before applying?

Hello. I posted a similar question in another forum but wantes more insight.

Let me get this part out of the way for people to see first.

I am terrifies of heights. I never been on a plane or even a rollercoaster. I can't do it. It will make me explode thinking about it. I have anxiety in general the thought of flying makes me shake. So my options are thin.

I want to let me gf visit me here in the states. She is 28 like me also. She owns a farm business with her father. She is getting a new job soon at a school. She has family that lives around the world LEGALLY. She has been to Japan and returned home when supposed to.

I have pretty much all B2 visa documents on my side done. She is working on hers as we speak. I have about $6000 in my savings that I plan to use to sponsor her. I make $35-$70k a year with the higher end of that being overtime that is guaranteed from my employer.

I have been researching more and more about this and it seems b2 will most likely be denied because they will think she will not return home etc. I know she will but need to convince the embassy lol.

Again. Flying is worse case scenario but I believe that wont happen because of my fear

It's easy to say just do it but some people don't understand phobias.

What can I do? I plan on marrying her in the future but we need to meet first before applying for k1? What can he done?

What B2 documents on "your side"? You can't sponsor someone for a B2 visa.  She must qualify on her own....and as you were told on the other thread, she must have very, very strong ties to her country..

If she travels all around the world but can't get a tourist visa, maybe she can meet you somewhere else, possibly Canada or Mexico if you can't fly. I doubt fear of flying will be enough of a justification not to have met before filing the K1 visa.  Generally medical means life threatening issues, and even then is extremely difficult.  You can always try, but I would expect to be denied.

Sponsorship doesn't come into play for the B2, it's purely based on her ability to be a tourist, not on your supporting her.

For affidavit of support for the K-1, it's seems you'd have enough income, assuming you don't have many other dependents.

If her ties to the Philippines are enough they would allow a B2.  If not, find a way to meet in another place if you really can't get yourself onto an airplane.

Good luck
