As much as it sucks we have to be away from our loved ones for longer than expected, I feel like there is a lot more certainty with the NVC time frame. The I-130 was like a lottery system and you were lucky they pulled yours out of the hat. Fingers crossed NVC will get back on track soon and the wait time will decrease. Hang in there.

I really hope that the change to 11 weeks means its done 100% within that timeframe.  Hey dreams are free right?  When it was 8 weeks I saw several approvals at 9 or 10 weeks, so I have to have hope.  I'm a day and a half away from hitting 9 weeks and if they go over my 11 weeks I can't move to the USA when my husband goes, I'll be stuck doing so myself with a baby.  In fact they need to approve me really in the next few days to make it happen.  Praying for a miracle, not just for me but for all of you that NVC not only keeps within, but exceeds our expectations. 

I agree that there is more certainty for sure, but its still not easy.

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

NOA1: 24 Mar, 2016 (email notification 30 Mar. Hardcopy 11 Apr)

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017 

POE (entered the USA): 15th May 2017

02/17/2017: NOA2, I-130 approved 

02/24/2017: Notification received on App (I130 Approved)
02/26/2017: Approved I-130 sent to NVC

02/28/2017: (NOA2) Notification received via snail mail.

When your USCIS case status changes to "Case was sent to Department of State", you should call 4-5 days after that and start inquiring. [I am not sure if the status on USCIS website changes to the mentioned status or not, but that is what I have observed].

 

Our case was approved on 01/18 and our case was sent to NVC on 01/31. We received notifications for both status changes.

06/13/17 -- Interview [7:30 AM at Mumbai, India]. Visa Approved

06/15/17 -- Visa in hand

06/21/17 -- POE at DFW (Dallas, Texas)

----- Removal of Condition -----

Removal of Condition (I-751) [Approved]

06/18/2019 -- Sent the package (3 Days before GC expires, cutting it close). Sent to Lewisville, TX via FedEx Ground

06/19/2019 -- Package received at around 9:30 AM (Hoping I don't get rejected for missing deadline)

06/24/2019 -- Card was charged with $680 fees. Text Message received confirming Receipt. Case routed to NBC (Case Number starts with 'MSC')

06/28/2019 -- NOA Hard Copy & 18 Months Extension Letter Received in Mail with NOA Date as 06/19/2019

07/12/2019 -- Biomentrics Appointment Letter received. The Letter is Dated 7/5/2019. Appointment is on 7/22/2019

07/22/2019 -- Biometrics Appointment Complete

03/03/2022 -- Interview Complete. No new Green Card will be produced as my Naturalization was also approved.

Today our case was reviewed at NVC! I called just a few minutes ago and the rep said we got a checklist for the Affidavit of Support. Dang it, haha. It will be a quick fix and we could still potentially have CC this week. So for those going through email processing, I can now confirm through personal experience that the 2-3 week timeline is correct.

3/16/2017: DS-260 submitted; AOS and IV packets sent with EP.

4/06/2017: Case complete.

4/15/2017: Interview email (P4).

5/09/2017: Medical.

5/15/2017: Interview.

5/19/2017: Visa in hand.
