Trump travel ban: US judge blocks new executive order

A Federal judge in Hawaii has blocked President Donald Trump's new travel ban, hours before it was due to begin at midnight on Thursday.

The ruling by US District Judge Derrick Watson stops the executive order from going into effect.

Hawaii is one of several US states trying to stop the ban.

The directive would have placed a 90-day ban on people from six mainly Muslim nations and a 120-day ban on refugees.

I agree what this judge did will not stand at all. What Trump wants to do is making the constitution and all of us safer as a country. He is my leader.

I am sure in some alternate fact reality he is a staunch supporter of our Constitution. As it stands at the moment, what he is doing in un-American. He's pandering to a nationalist base, and his divisive discourse and his hatred will further set people apart.

So the last 8 years having someone in office who was against the constitution was a good thing? Obama wanted open borders and everybody to come in this country no problem. All the while forgetting about regular working class Americans who put him there. He would rather pander to people from outside this country than uphold the values of this country.

 

How is Trumps ban unAmerican, it has been done in the past. Not one official argument against the ban pays out a argument that it's unamerican, instead it lays out false truths saying it's a Muslim ban or that it's racist. Sorry but a news outlet I read from Saudi Arabia called Alarabiya also said it wasn't a Muslim ban because it leaves the vast majority of Muslim countries aren't affected by it.

 

Stop listening to the open border talking points and start listening to the facts.

They like to conveniently forget what Carter did in 1980.  Isn't Iran a predominantly Muslim country?  Weren't US citizens of Iranian heritage injured by the cancellation of family member visas?  Oh, I forgot, a Democratic Progressive would never do something so bad.  It is interesting and somewhat sad to see how political the federal judicial system has become.

What was the Maryland judge's ruling details?  The article only mentioned that judge in passing then reiterated the news about the Hawaii judge.

but of course his followers cheer as he falsely explains how he's allowed to make these bans against muslims, conveniently leaving out that he has to have a basis besides 'islamic muslim terrorism' to make it stick.

I wasn't aware that the constitution needed protection. I'm glad Trump's on top of it.
