Tainter has something to say about this.

Haha, I am just going to stop at this. There's already enough frustration in this forum thread without adding this to the mix :)

I meant the ENTIRE system, not just USCIS. From the use of government to the economic models. It's all broken.

Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people: First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization. Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization. The perpetuation of the organization soon becomes the driving force of the organization rather than its stated goals.

Need some help!

so I am waiting as patiently as I can for my response to my RFE  and I have seen that people have contacted their senators. If I still don't have any word by this Saturday I plan on contacting my Senator and asking for an inquiry on my case.

For those of you who have contacted your senators, how did you go about it through your email? I don't want to sound too whiny but I need to know what is going on with my case or I might go crazy!!! Or crazier than I already am 😂

Any help is appreciated

a very whiney march whiner

You have three options -- since you have two senators and one rep. After a brief email exchange I followed KosmicBlue's path, and contacted teh same senator she had success with. So far no dice for me.

It's pretty easy, just google your senators and find their local office and call. You have to fill out a privacy release and send that in along with the K1.

For your rep you need to find the one for your district, then follow the same steps.

And all of these laws apply specifically to the human brain. I don't see bald eagles or two toed sloths gaining control of organizations. We have a human brain problem on our hands haha.

They're in control of USCIS, they just hide themselves well.

Sadly enough that sounds pretty accurate to me. One of the reasons why I quitted my job at the local government here seven years ago, being one of the first kind but pressured to become one of the second. Of course there were more reasons, but sure that 'helped'. So yep, it happens everywhere

From the K1 Guide on this site:

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:

(A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
(B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)
(C) If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern
(D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

There's a bunch of threads here on being self-employed and filing I-134s , and I think most said to provide several years of the IRS transcripts. There is also discussion about whether the bank statements are really needed.

I'm self employed as well but behind you in the process so I can't say for sure, I've just been reading all these.

I'm glad I found this forum. We got the NOA1 on March 22. Just waiting like everyone else I guess. We used rapid visa but nothing seems so rapid at the moment. Keeping our fingers crossed!

When you ask your fiancé why haven't we received a response? Or when will we get a response? just adds additional stress. There is no answer, and at the end of the day we are in this together.
