congrats,do you wanna share anything about how the interview went?may what they asked and the documents he went along with?

I finally talked to him and got the full report! Interview went really well - he was in and out in about 1 hour. He brought everything I had sent to USCIS/NVC. They only asked him to produce originals of his documents like his police report, birth certificate, passport, and our marriage certificate. It was a two-step process -- first a woman went over everything he needed to provide, she took his documents from him. Then he met with another person, who was a case officer. This person asked him a couple of questions like how we met and what my husband did for work / where he planned on living in the US. That was it. He was approved and given directions about the packet he would receive in the mail with his passport and what to do when he entered the US.

He thought it was interesting that they also gave him a paper with information on it about his rights if there was spousal abuse once he was in the US. Apparently both case officers asked him if he had received and understood this information.

Congratulations!!! :)

We also got the domestic violence paper and was told it was for both of us (we both attended the interview).  These questions were asked in our interview a week ago:

How did you meet?

When did you get married?

What does your spouse do for work?

Is this both your first marriage?

How did you communicate over the course of the relationship?

How many people attended your wedding?

Who from abroad attended the wedding, and what was their relation to you (ie family, friend, sister etc)?

How many times did you (the applicant) travel to the US to meet your spouse?

How many times did you (the petitioner) travel to Guyana to meet your spouse?

We were then told the visa is approved.  Although we were at the embassy for 90 minutes, the interview itself was 10 minutes.  The visa was printed in the passport on the same day, but we were told to come back in 3 days to collect it (which we did).

Word of advice (which I read in these forums): if the petitioner attends the interview with the applicant and if a question is directed to the applicant, the petitioner should never answer on the applicant's behalf or try to correct anything.  You will have your chance to speak :)

Congrats to everyone who got their visas approved, and good luck to everyone whose interview is forthcoming.  Pray, stay strong and all will be well.

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

very detail!! thanks!!

now I am worried, cos since my husband went back to US, we didn't travel to US or Taiwan to visit each other, cos I told him is too expensive, just wait few more months then we can live together

but not sure what embassy will think about it....

I don't think it will be an issue as long as you explain it and bring proofs such as calls, chats and emails. Lots of people are in the same boat, including me, plus I am sure we all thought this was going to take less months, right?

It depends on the Embassy/Consulate. My Consulate keeps the passport and mails it to your address after 2/3 days with the visa printed on a page

I called this morning to check and see if they scheduled an interview for us yet. The rep said that they have not yet and will schedule at the end of the month.  So does anyone know how close to the end of the month will the begin scheduling interviews?

That sounds weird. End of month is next scheduling for May. April should be finally scheduled much sooner, I think this & next week.

I also thought they were scheduling interviews for April. My cousin has been calling since her approval ( 03/07/2017 ) nothing yet. She did speak to a supervisor on 03/07 who said they will schedule an April interview for her but, she didnt know when.

Hopefully you both will hear something by tomorrow. Keep us notified.

Anyone here recently was scheduled an April interview. Please notify us.

Scan Date January 18th
