You usually call their hotline to ask for your case number (1-2 weeks after your NOA2 was approved). If you have your case number, you can follow the status on the CEAC website.

Thank you @isabelleyri we hope to get this process finally done now its been a long long wait

Well you can start filling out your DS-160. That is in the ceac website. Then you can also use your case number i think to book your medical and interview dates (although it depends per country). Check country-specific threads in this forum. It will give you more insight of the process in the beneficiary's country ?

I did not call to see if it left NVC. Once you have your NVC #, you can check the status here:  https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

It changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit".

But yes, I did a lot of calling for several weeks first, to see if they had even rec'd the petition from USCIS.  Then, calling more to get the NVC #.

Does the embassy in the beneficiary's country review the I-129f packet that was send to the service center in the U.S?

I would think they do, I just am not sure how much more proof to bring aside from ongoing relationship messages that occurred between filing and interview date.

Yes, the embassy receives the full I-129F packet. You should also bring evidence of an ongoing relationship for the interview.

  1. Nothing. You just wait and keep following it. Once it passes 5-6 months, it will be outside of normal processing timeslines and you can request an inquiry from them or a congressional inquiry. Prior to that, they'll just give you the normal "it's pending" response.
  2. I think these are the 2 most common Android ones people are using:

Thank you for your answer!

You can do a case status inquiry from here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

For a congressional inquiry, you have to reach out to your local congressional representative and ask them to look into your case. This can be via mail or email in most cases.

You likely won't need to get to that point...the overwhelming majority of cases are processed within 5-6 months. Not all, unfortunately, but most by far.
