I hope you won't take offense of what I am about to say. But do you think it will be worth marrying someone who does not even care about it? If at this point she does not care, what makes you think she will later. I understand that you already paid the fees and yes, why not push through with the process since you are the one paying for it anyway. However, is it only the case that she does not care about is something you also need to ask yourself. We are in no place to judge at all since we do not know the person and the story. :) You do not want to hate a person for wasting your time, money, effort and will break your heart because you did not both talk about the problem. :)

Your relationship is your relationship but... I'm sure i am not the only person who is wondering why you are getting married. It sounds as if she thinks she is doing you a favour by marrying you.  And you sound annoyed at her - which is understandable in the circumtances.  However, I do agree with other comments that you should perhaps have a big conversation about whether this is what you both want.  This is for the rest of your lives! Good luck x

Congrats! Monday we got our NVC # and already today we were able to schedule the interview. Things move faster, it seems, once you get on the other side. :D

I just remembered that some people in this thread have been asking about a letter from the NVC.  I talked to a very friendly and helpful NVC employee tonight.  He said, "Just to let you know, a lot of people have been calling to ask about letters from the NVC.  You will not get anything from us.  We don't do that anymore.  Your next communication will be from the US embassy in Montreal."  So, if you have been wondering about a letter/calling to ask about a letter/thinking of calling to ask about a letter, apparently they no longer send them. :)

You can absolutely do this! I called and asked for a letter stating my partner's case number and IIN (invoice identification number) from the NVC. The very helpful woman on the phone said that these are not sent for K-1 visas, because they often don't stay at the NVC from complete receipt of the case to sending it to the embassy/consulate for very long (usually less than 5 days), so the system generated letters do NOT go out to people anymore. I asked if I could have one anyway, and she said yes. It arrived just about a week after I inquired, and was a letter saying, "This letter is in regards to inquiry regarding the following case" and had all the information I had asked for written down and very official looking!

Met in college, reconnected five years later. Started a life together in America. ❤️

I'm going to do another purge of "final" statuses next week. The current list is composed of about 25% of those, so it will free up slots to add more Dec. cases since we are starting to see a good chunk of them towards the end of the list. So much so that I likely missed a few in the totals today.

Best day ever!!! :D Though its still only 50% of touched cases getting approved, but the number of cases is great!

I guess they are picking up speed to meet their deadlines, and not paying too much attention to intricacies and hence so many RFEs...
