Republicans in their infinite wisdom want to now prevent  the reunification of families by reducing family based immigration in half.

This one I actually see no problem with (as opposed to more or less anything else the Republicans propose). The core family (spouse and children) can still be reunited. Allowing extended family members to immigrate has been generous, but seems unnecessary to me.

wouldn't mind seeing them allow parents to emigrate but put the condition that a parent who was petitioned cound not petition for thier other children. even after then get citizenship.

 i think that it would be important to up the ante on the I-864 as well as health insurance for the elderly often isn't considered before immigrating them.
