Reassuring to see more people get their EAD and AP approved. Our NOA1 date is Feb 7 and we are still waiting. Wife is hoping to fly out on May 17 so we keep crossing our fingers!

You have passed day 75, have you called to submit an inquiry? Sometimes it gets your case moving faster.

Right now it looks like it is taking around 7-14 days from the date the EAD/AP is approved to when it is received in the mail according to what other vjers in December and January have shared, but it can take up to 30 days for the card to be produced and for the card to be shipped. My card was approved last Wednesday and I will likely get it this Wednesday or Thursday. I would call to submit an inquiry, especially since you have a trip planned, it may help move your case forward faster!

Best of luck!

I was just working on doing that now! Hartford, CT -- they seem VERY backlogged now though :/

Oh, Hartford is barely 1 1/2 hours away from me.

Its a little weird. A lot of the offices are very backlogged but still give out appointments much sooner than expected a lot of the times. Of course this doesn't mean that everyone will get a quick apppontment, but some people in LA for example have been getting interviews rather quickly and LA is very backlogged as well.

Either way, I wish you the best of luck. My local office is likely NYC if it gets transferred and our timelines are off by about a week so maybe I'll hear something soon.

I'm sure you'll hear something soon! USCIS works in mysterious ways -- we had an RFIE and I thought we were going to be set back a lot! Good luck to you!

How do you "submit an inquiry"? I pass 75 days tomorrow so I want to submit one to speed up the process.

Just call the USCIS Customer Service line (1-800-375-5283), give the officer your USCIS Case Number for your EAD application and request to submit an inquiry as you've passed day 75. If they say you can't, the USCIS processing times website tells you that you can, so you can quote it. They will likely give you an inquiry number and tell you they will contact you within 30 days. (Hopefully sooner!)

To get a human faster, select your language when prompted by the automated service then immediately dial "22624" and it will send you straight through to a person!

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you.  Sent in a certified copy of my marriage certificate and received a RFIE saying it wasn't provided.  So frustrating but glad I wasn't alone.  I sent another certified copy and a photocopy the next day after speaking with an agent on the phone who said the person processing my file "probably wasn't paying attention" while processing it and I should just do what they say.  My status updated two days later saying that they had received it but since then no changes to speak of.  The waiting is killing me and I'm super concerned that this will affect my work permit which I really need.  I didn't submit the 2016 tax return so I guess I'll see if I get a further RFE but I'll definitely bring it to the interview in case.

Sorry it took me so long to see this! I've been organizing a move and dealing with all this stress, I haven't been on the forums pretty much at all. Any updates on your situation?

I've mailed my response to USCIS and they updated my case status for the AOS today to having received it. I checked with my lawyer-friend who does immigration cases and he told me to send the updated financial documents and tax transcript with the RFIE for the marriage certificate so that's what I did. I sent 2016 transcript, 6 paystubs as well as another original marriage certificate and a photocopy of my marriage license - with an itemized letter explaining everything included and what it's in relation to. Lawyer also told me to specify in the letter that my original AOS package did include the requested certificate but I am following their request by sending another.

Now all I need to do is update my address with USCIS (I move on the 30th so I'm going to wait a day or two then do the online address change - I don't want them sending mail when I'm not there to receive it) and continue the waiting game. Hoping I get EAD soon, not working is killing me! Ya think it sounds nice to take a few month "vacation" from work but I've gone completely stir crazy!

Edit: If it helps and if you haven't gotten any updates, said lawyer friend told me an RFIE for the AOS doesn't affect processing time for the EAD; he said only if you were to get an RFE for the EAD itself does it affect the timeline.

Thanks for this advice! We called today and they said they are a little backlogged. They told us they are still working on applications from Nov. Which is interesting because many people seemed to have received some sort of notice about their case. I guess we just have to wait. They told us to wait since it was the 74th day to investigate further.

Yeah they typically ask that people call to inquire after day 75, if you're on day 74 I would give them a call back on Thursday or Friday!

They are backlogged, however a lot of people from December and mid to late January have been getting responses about their EAD. Try to submit an inquiry again after day 75 and again after day 90 if it doesn't go anywhere. I think one or two people from early February have heard about their EAD without expediting. Hopefully more people will hear soon!

Hey, thanks for replying.  As chance would have it my EAD status just updated this morning to "New Card Is Being Produced"!!!  I'm so happy as I really want to start working.  Getting a bit bored hanging out with the dog.  I was super surprised that it went through so fast.

My AOS status still says "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received" from March 10th.  At this point I'm just praying my case is being processed through the NBC and I don't have to go and interview as my office is San Francisco and it would be a pain to have to go there.  Fingers crossed :)

Hope you get an update soon!
