Nebraska is the main service centre, hence why they receive the most and why they are the slowest.  Don't ask me how they determine which ones to send to other SC's. 

Seem like the dates don't mean approving applications. Maybe at that time they are only filing for background checks or something.

hm my USCIS case status app on Real-Time Updates  i have , for Nebraska Center ( where my case us ) still hasn't showed any late November or December filer live updates yet, I still get notifications for files like September-October lol

We were approved on May 25, they received the case on Nov 23. It was 183 days total. We applied for an expedite four weeks ago, we never received an answer to the request just that it has been assigned to someone for a decision. So I dont know if the expedite helped anything at all.

not sure to be exact, but I am guessing these estimates on VJ are drawn from timelines, when people updates their timelines the estimates update too I am guessing  according to which PD files just got approved etc. 

my estimate originally showed October 15-November 1, but not its showing November 6-15 or so hehe going backward

The estimates here are based on the hundreds of people, possibly a few thousands, who have signed up with VJ. However, there are hundreds of thousands of people, possibly millions, who have not signed up with VJ throughout the world who are also going through the various visa processes.

 

The VJ estimates are based on just a very small sample of applicants. However, I must say that they appear to be within a reasonable range of accuracy for the most part. Of course there will be exceptions and outliers in almost every sample.

So I called just to humor myself I guess lol, got a nice guy on the line. I could tell he was reading from a script. So just for the heck of it I started asking random questions like well how come some get approved before others, why is Nebraska so slow etc. I made him chuckle. Anyway, he tells me of course they are within normal time range and since my priority date is in December and they are working on end of September that I have about three more months before I get a response...let's hope not.

So my husband called them and they said the same thing. "We're within the processing timeframe" (PD is 28th November) I remember when we filed it was averaging to about 5 months and now it's almost 7...

We asked why our file was in Nebraska when we filed in California and were told all files go to Nebraska? Ok.... 

We also asked how much longer she anticipated it would take and she said it would take a maximum of 3 more months.... 

Other than that it was all pretty scripted and we thought we were talking to an automated machine at first lol

yes, they always read from a script and the time they tell you is the one that is posted on the official website. And you cant trust it as its a few months old. If you look at the most recent one of September 30th its based on the numbers of March 31st.

 

On a random note, https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers could potentially tell us about case transfers to other locations. 

 

Also one other thing, https://www.dhs.gov/news/2017/01/17/uscis-announces-new-approach-posting-processing-times tell us that they will post more accurate times. Like that ever going to happy any time soon (SMH).

Maybe you need to start calling them daily and ask to speak to the supervisor directly. I have read here that you end up having to leave your number and the supervisors usually call you back. I dont know if it can be relied upon every single time.

we had requested expedite where they claimed they sent a notice requesting evidence we never got. 

we got a senator involved still nothing, even though he got them to view our case. 

we call an they call, but its just way passed time which is frustrating.

We call a lot. Even have an interview for next week to see a supervisor at one of the centre
