An update on our Journey,  My Fiance returned back to her medical appointment to pick up her medical papers, she needed one more vaccine after they reviewed her bloodwork. In Taiwan, the medical appointments usually finish 10 business days, unless your able to get your medical history if your born after the paper age.

Overall, we finally got everything we needed for our interview appointment!! Hopefully all goes well! 😀

She could have done it in a day, but unfortunately got a dermatological referral.  So that was an extra day, and one for immunization after that.  But you can do it all in one day if you get there early.  Again, Good Luck.  At worst if all goes well, you may need a second day for immunization to finish it up.

Update:

My fiance had her medical exam today in Bogota, Colombia.  All appears to have gone well and she was able to pick up her packet of results in the same day!  She did have to get 3 shots.  Chicken Pox was one of them.  I think one of them was the Flu also, which it's not Flu season so I don't know why she had to take that one, but she did.  And I'm not sure what the third one is.

Anyways, it appears all is well and now in 1 week I fly down to see her and in 1 week and 1 day we have our interview at the Embassy together!

So close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fiancé had his medical exam Tuesday as well and same! He had to get three shots (one of them being the flu shot). He also got his packet for the embassy that same day. They even gave him a sealed envelope for use when we adjust his status after marriage. It all went very smoothly, it was a long afternoon (he was there from 2-almost 7) but he said it was worth it and we are feeling so much closer to the finish line.

His interview is on the 14th of July but unfortunately I won't be able to join him for that. Do you think that will have a negative impact on how things go at the interview? It's not mandatory that we be present, is it?

No it is not mandatory.  Colombia happens to allow the fiance to be accompanied by the US Citizen petitioner.  Not all countries allow this.  But, I was in a position that I could make this trip and be with her for this.  If anything it helps prove authentic and bonafide relationship thru physical evidence (me actually there), which is a big factor in the interview process, especially in Colombia I've heard.  But if you are not there with him, then just have a good relationship evidence packet put together as specified in Colombia Fiance Packet 3/4.

Hey fellow Canadians, some of you have mentioned you had to resend packet 3 multiple times. How did you know to resend it or not? I sent mine on Monday 19th and still have not received an answer. I did receive the confirmation that it was indeed received and that they normally answer within a 10 business days range...Which would be tomorrow...They are observing Canadian Day on the Monday 3rd.

How did you get  to talk to Tier 2? Any tips and tricks?

I was never able to convince the person on the phone to transfer me to Tier 2...

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always get transferred to a tier 2 officer. Just be calm and be nice as much as possible (i know it's hard). Don't ask them right away to transfer you. Let them do their job and help you first. I usually ask for my current status. Then politely tell the tier 1 that you called few weeks ago and was able to speak to a tier 2 officer and he/she informed you that your case is still... (tell them the status). Then tell them that tier 2 asked you to call again some time this week to follow up.

When you track it with your number NVC gives you, it will say Ready on the CEAC tracker

Yes, we are definitely in the same batch. I don't know about you, but I am finally starting to relax, after months and months of uncertainty.

This is so trippy...I checked my NVC case status in the morning, it said "at NVC" then again 3 hours later and it said "Ready" then checked again a couple of minutes ago and it says "at NVC". I can't be making this up, i even updated my timeline with the details given when it said Ready..
