I'd say yes, however I've reread my consulate doco and my husband is expected to attend the interview with me so now he is bringing it with him. Just check whether you have to be there first before mailing as each consulate us different.

May 5 - I-130 Received

June 17 - RFE Received

August 4 - NOA2
October 3 - USICIS sent to NVC
October 12 - NVC received (69 days in limbo)
? - case number assigned
? - AOS bill paid
? - call NVC to review DS-261 and get IV invoice unlocked
? - IV bill paid
? - submit DS-260
? - send IV/AOS package
? - scan date

? - cc

? - interview date

Thats incorrect. The scan date is the date that NVC scans your document that you mailed to them into their system.

It has nothing to do with when the DS-260 is filled out and or fees paid.

Okay.. The rep I spoke with said that even though my documents were in they didn't consider that the scan date because he DS260 was not completed. But I guess the scan date should be the date documents were scanned to the file..

AOS shows as paid today, my husband paid it last weekend, woke up with email from nvc on paying the IV fee and to assemble the paperwork. To those that have sent in their paperwork what kind of evidence of relationship did you send the nvc as that is on the checklist of what they require? Not really sure what to send?

Many thanks!

Excited the next stage is in proces!!

You don't need to send any evidence of relationship to the NVC. USCIS deals with all that at the I-130 stage. If you've got this far, you've satisfied them that the relationship is a good one. NVC is concerned only with visa eligibility, not eligibility to petition.

Are you referring to "proof of relationship" listed under the financial documents? That applies to household members who are completing an I-864A only. Such people must prove how they are a household member of the sponsor (marriage certificate for spouses, birth certificate for parent/offspring). So if you have your brother as a joint sponsor and he is combining income with his wife to meet the requirement, your brother's wife must include a copy of their marriage certificate with her I-864A to prove she is his wife and household member.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Many thanks for this info JFH, yes it was "proof of relationship" listed under the financial documents i was referring to, and my husband wasn't sure what to send either, but now

I can let him know. :)

Now I am so confused!

Should I be sending my documents in before the DS-260 is unlocked or not? I thought I read in all the forums to "hurry up and send them because you're wasting time and losing days if you don't," but now it seems like they need the DS-260 completed to move forward anyway...?

I can't imagine it would hurt anything to go ahead and send them. I sent ours and we're still waiting for the DS260 to unlock. Anything to help them speed the process along is worth doing.

6 weeks was Monday and got put on supervisor review on Tuesday morning 7:30am. Still nothing...called today and the rep said to wait till Monday and if I don't hear anything to call back...ugh I hope by Monday or Tuesday!!! They said they are scheduling interviews for December till end of next week!

Good morning, today makes 5 weeks for my case. I called NVC this morning and without hesitation they put us on supervisor review! lets see how long this is going to take now.

Well if you look at my timeline you will see I sent them before I completed the DS-260 As I already had everything they needed.. (I dont think NCV has an issue with it coming in early as least I did not get a slap on the hand for doing it) . I was just waiting for the cover sheet .. My documents were received on Nov 2nd and the DS 260 was completed on Nov 3rd . I spoke with another NVC Rep this morning he also stated to me that the scan date is Nov 3rd as that is the last document that was entered ..

What we did was, we had our documents prepared and the day our IV was invoiced we payed it and on Same day mailed the docs overnight so next day our ds260 was unlocked so basically the day the received docs was same as the day we completed ds260
