some people need to know their NOA2 estimation.. how on earth can u prepare for something when u don't know if ur missing anything.... I planned my trip around a possible noa2 date because it took me over 2 months just to get my fiancé to sign the documents... I had to physically send mail to him and he had to walk and ride far just to get the papers... He doesn't have the ability to fax and print like its such an easy thing for a lot of us.  He doesn't even have a mail box. so yes some of us its important because what took some days to sign it took me months.

oh great!

I had no idea there was a Cuba K-1visa forum! It will be good to visit it as well. I'll search for it. Thank you :)

058rocale,

It's more of a Cuba US Immigration Portal.  You can filter K-1 Visa related threads there.  This is the closest I could get to a URL:  http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Cuba&tpage=1&ppage=5&forum=80

Maybe we should start our own thread for Cuba K-1 Visa once we get our NOA2 since there will probably be others with specific questions to the Cuba interview process.  Heard it was pretty tough...

Yeah, probably there is.

Go to http://www.visajourney.com/portals/

and see if your country is in the dropdown menu.

Then you can click on "Follow Country" to add to your "My Portal" on your profile.  :D

From there you'll have to filter the K-1 Visa threads from your country portal.  Hope that helps!

No need to get snappy with each other on this website! Just putting in a word for kindness. All of us here are stuck in the limbo of even hearing back from the government about this crucial first piece, the NOA-2. (Most of us are just wanting to be able to put an overall timeframe in our minds, and know whether USCIS has decided it needs more information on our relationship to make a decision or whether they have everything they need.) We all know that after the NOA-2 comes the wait for the NVC to receive the case from USCIS, the forwarding to the embassy, the embassy processing, and everything our beneficiaries have to do on the other side (medical exam, interview), etc - followed by ironing out travel plans, wedding plans, and plans for filing work authorizations and adjustments of status....and then the long wait for the green card. We all know this, but each next piece of information brings us just thaaaat much closer to our finance(e)s being here as our spouses, which is the end-goal. There is no need to begrudge anyone the long struggle for the wait, LostRonin!

RIght now (11:25 PST), there is a Twitter conversation at #AskUSCIS that is supposed to answer questions directly from USCIS.  Mostly bureaucratic, but may be worth a short at submitting more 129F/CSC questions.

https://twitter.com/hashtag/askuscis?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash

I don't have Twitter, but hopefully someone will ask them why there has been such a drastic slowdown in K-1 approvals for the last couple of months and when they are going to start cranking them out again.

Here is some info about the California Visa center from past open house they had plus some other articles that may or may not pertain to K-1 visas. Some articles are dated, but info on processing is probably the same.  Might answer some of your questions, or not..something to do as you wait.

So looking at this chart:

csc_i129f_approvals.gif

It looks to me like October is close to wrapping up? Would that be about right? And now we should see the Novembers start rolling in?

This is really a bad chart for November filers and forward. Normally if the prior month was at 80% approvals like October then by this point November would be Near 50% or higher.

My last K-1 was filed in November of another year and it was approved in 28 days I'm at day 68 or so now.

Yes November is close to wrapping up. These graphs for VJ never hit 100% approved as 1) a good 10 to 20% never update their timelines and some of those are just never approved.

Novembers are crawling in LOL

Many of our lives are basically on hold because of the wait. Having said that NOA 2 is approved in the vast majority of cases. More cases are denied for the Visa Interview than for the petitioner's I-129F.

Once you are reunited with your loved one the rest is all easy accept for the $$$$ to USCIS.
