Removal of Conditions interview officer said decision in 30 days is that bad?

Ok, my wife and I just had our ROC interview, our evidence was really bad, I'm sure because our checking account didn't show her making any purchases or deposits. We're stupid, I make all the purchases, and she cashes her checks with out making deposits because we use her money to pay for food, gas etc.

The interviewer said he would make his decision in 30 days, I expect that to be bad news. Do they tell you right away if everything is okay or do they make everyone wait?

If the decision is bad, what do we do?  :help: :help:

i don't quit understand your questions, :) you have a joint account but your wife did not make any purchase/deposit on this joint account? why does this matter? you are married, you are supposed to share everything, i don't really think it does matter who made more purchase/deposit on this joint account as long as they are active and have many transactions.

Any other opinions? thank you :)

Officer said there will be no more interviews, he would give decision in 30 days. IS THAT BAD? Thats my main question. Is he being a chicken and not telling us up front if it is not approved or is he really going to just look at our file and decide in 30 days?

Basically the wife was on the account but wasn't using it. So it wasn't really a joint account.

They would tell you otherwise. They're looking everything over. At least you weren't flat out denied.

Did he have the A-File on his desk during the interview? Yes? No ?

If no, well, he's supposed to review the physical file, and requesting the file and getting the file in from storage takes time.

he had the original file that was there in the AOS with all the stuff from that interview and the stuff we sent before this interview. He circled a lot of things on a sheet he added as he went along but said the checking didn't count since I was the only one using it. oops. my wife only goes out with me and she lets me swipe my card all the time. I guess that didn't help lol

well, you know the RoC is mostly about showing proof of financial co-mingling. how to show that, using cash? I don't see an avenue, sorry.

Just curious.....looking at me & hubby's checking account....nothing there shows which person is using it unless a check is written and you look at the image of the check to see who signed it. Otherwise it says "Debit card transaction".

Uhmm.. This makes me wonder if we will get an interview. We have a joint account where my husband's pay check comes in and I have my own account where my paycheck comes in, the only difference is the transaction in both of our accounts showing transfers to each other when needed to cover the bills. I also have more purchases on our joint credit card since I am always the one carrying the card when we go out or go to the groceries.

am i missing something? With a joint account it doesn't show who is withdrawing money if you are using a debit card. Is the only proof you sent a joint account? You sent nothing else at all? No lease, insurance, shared address, mortgage? You had not one other thing that proves you;re married? Really??????

You didn't send in any other evidence? Have you been filing taxes together? Lease? You buy anything together? If the rest of your evidence is strong you should be fine. We never had any joint accounts but had other evidence that was strong so it was never an issue..

When I had my AOS interview 2.5 year ago, it was very short. I think the whole thing wrapped up in 15 minutes, once the officer learned about my mandatory military service in my country (which was only a 2.5 week basic training by the way). Officer said she will need to investigate further on the case and put my file on top of 100s of other files in her office. We had our lawyer with us, my lawyer told her mandatory military services were not an issue before, but the officer quickly dismissed us with a fake smile on her face and the same words you heard "we will let you know within 30 days". My wife and I were very disappointed since I had a job offer waiting upon my greencard decision. my lawyer told us don't worry, she's had other issues with the same officer before (albany, ny office is so small i guess everybody knew each other) but she would have a meeting with the office director that afternoon on another subject but would bring this up too.

I don't know for sure if it was that meeting with my lawyer and director but my case was approved in the same afternoon that day. You know I was telling my wife if it was worth to work with a lawyer since the process was very simple (this was before the interview) but once I got the approval notice she earned every penny paid for her service.

So I'd say don't count too much on what the interviewing officer says, you may hear back tomorrow, or if you are unlucky your file may sit on his/her desk untouched for weeks/months. I don't think an unused joint account could be basis for a decision alone. So if you feel your case was strong other than the bank account issue, wait for a few weeks. Otherwise, it may be worth seeking lawyer's help. unfortunately lawyers are not cheap but will worth every penny if they could be of help. Good luck!

rules of adjudication are different, AOS vs RoC. Good backgrounder, though !

I gave tax papers from two years. Don't have lease/mortgage because we live with parents (sucks but they love her). Don't have car insurance because she doesn't drive.

The guy had the balls to ask why we don't have kids after three years. We need her to get a better job so we can afford to have kids. I'm already paying 30% of my income in child support.
