Anyone with a scan date of Sept 29 get a case complete yet? Still waiting...based on other peoples' experiences I was hoping for last Friday or today, but nothing....

And I woke up this morning to a message from my wife saying the fee had changed to N/A. I called NVC and the agent confirmed case complete today, Oct 27. Now the next wait begins.

Hi guys - I can't find my NVC welcome letter with the document checklist cover sheet. I have the other cover sheet that you get once you've paid. Is this a problem? Do I have to ask for a new one?

Hello!

Even if you put any document already into I-130 petition package, it doesn`t matter - you should put the same copies of certificates to NVC package again.

For your IV package you should put your immigrationg spouse documents, this colliction is about your husband! He is coimg to you, right? So it`s his divorce papers should be put there. If he was never married before - don`t put anything.

And sometimes its better to put more then they ask, so I would put all copies again, about yourself (your divorce) and about about your husband. If they don`t need it, they will throw it away. Don`t send them any original docs and don`t forget to write your names and ID number on every copy you send them.

Thank you. I will put everything in again just to be on the safe side. I'd rather have too much information then too little.

Good Morning all:

I called NVC for a DS-261 phone review yesterday and this morning. Both times I was told that my file could not be opened and it was being worked on. I was advised to call later in the week.

Are they actually working on my case or is there some glitch preventing the phone review?

Any thoughts?

Much appreciated!

Same thing happened to me. Every time I called they told me the account was locked and to try again in a few days. Finally on one call after talking to a friendly agent for a bit, I explained to her that I was concerned that since I had already sent my documents that they may be reviewed before we have a chance to fill out the da-260, and I asked to speak to a supervisor to unlock my case. She put me on hold for a few minutes then came back and told me the supervisor unlocked the case while I was on hold, and the agent reviewed my case right there.

I would suggest trying something similar. If an agent is unfriendly or unwilling, you may have to call again to get one who is more helpful.

Hey!

That cover letter was just a form that can be helpful for you to tick boxes about docs you would send.

You can make your own cover letter (checklist) with a list of docs you send them, in a free form.

But that barcoded letter that you got after you`d paid - it`s an important one. You should put it on top of your docs in envelope.

Alright so I just called NVC and this lady told me and she told me that they received the case from USCIS on October 19th... And it'll take 4weeks for them to get it in the system and then we can give you the case number and IIN number. She said you'll receive a letter and you could call and we'd give it on the phone once we get it..

Should I wait for 4 weeks or what? Please let me know guys. Thanks

My case was locked for about 2 weeks after I did my DS-261. Eventually a supervisor unlocked it. Seems like they won't unlock it until it hits a certain time-frame.

I am putting all of my documents together to send to the NVC. When they ask for Marriage termanation documents is that for my husband, myself or both?

He has not been married before but I was.

I sent my divorce papers with the initial i-130, but am not clear if I need to send them to NVC.

My impression is that all documents being sent to NVC are pertaining to my husband (the beneficiary).

The IV package has to do with the beneficiary. Refer to the NVC Guides linked at the top, they will help you a lot :)

Ok.. I just got a mail from the NVC stating that they received my Aos/Iv packet on 26th Oct and due to high incoming mail volume I should give them 30days to review my documents... and will notify me if there is any more required documents or if I will be scheduled for an interview overseas...

What does that mean???

Is 26th Oct my scan date??

Might be a stupid question but I need some clarification....

Thanks

Just called NVC about our Sept 24 scan date. Was told I will receive a checklist for the newest version of the I-864 & I-864A. When I sent them they were the current version but by the time NVC got around to reviewing they were not the current version. It was reviewed on Oct 18 and I still have no e-mail.

I'm a little upset that they would checklist for that reason.

I was told to wait for the checklist to come in the mail before resending anything. The lady said that they have not sent the letter yet but soon.

I am still waiting on an email and/or letter from NVC with the checklist.

If I was told on the phone what is required should I go ahead and resend by email so I can get a new scan date?

We were hoping for a December interview but we will now be bumped to at least January if it takes them an additional 30 days to review after receiving requested forms.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi MarciaSean! I'm sorry to hear that they checklisted you for such a minor thing.

If you ask me, I wouldn't send it again! Why? Because they might just tell you in the checklist letter to take it with you at the interview.

But why don't you try and call again this morning? They should open in 30 mins :) and you can ask them again. If you get a helpful rep ask if it's just that reason and if you can take that at the interview or you need to send it again to them. Don't wait, call them and be nice when asking them :D Good luck!

And I woke up this morning to a message from my wife saying the fee had changed to N/A. I called NVC and the agent confirmed case complete today, Oct 27. Now the next wait begins.

Congrats!!! :) Good luck with the medical and interview! You're almost done with this!!
