Several noncontributory posts, bickering posts, and quotes thereof have been removed from the thread. Administrative action has been applied to one member's account for violation of this item from the VisaJourney Terms of Service:

"Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, harass, insult, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users."

Folks, this is a tense time. Post supportively and constructively here, or don't post.

So my fiancee went in for her interview Monday Morning and apparently due to some technical issues, they were unable to access her DS-160 and so she had to reschedule her interview and it's now going to be another month before she can come. Sucks we had a ticket purchased so gotta pay to reschedule that and apparently airlines charge $200 to change a ticket -_-

Anywho, has anyone else been hit by this? :ranting:

According to the Department of State Consular Affairs Facebook page, they'll be posting another update today. I hope we find out more about the 22 posts that are running as normal again - though I saw some comments on there that say my consulate (London) is not :( I wonder if it's worth calling the embassy myself for any information. Though I am staying hopeful that now the problem has been fixed for some, some progress is better than none, and it'll at least mean some people will be getting their long awaited visas to be with their loved ones and continue their lives once again, which is always a good thing :)

Technological Systems Issue

JUNE 23, 2015

Visa Systems Issues

  • The Bureau of Consular Affairs reports that the database responsible for handling biometric clearances has been rebuilt and is being tested. 39 posts, representing more than two-thirds of our normal capacity, are now online and issuing visas. We are working to restore full biometric data processing.

  • We issued more than 45,000 visas yesterday. Beijing alone issued nearly 15,000 visas.

  • Our team continues to work 24/7 to restore the systems to full functionality.

  • We will continue to bring additional posts online until connectivity with all posts is restored.

  • We deeply regret the inconvenience to travelers waiting for visas.

  • We continue to post updates to our website, travel.state.gov.
