Ok I know this has been asked a million times but I can't keep this straight.... Is K1 considered immigrant or nonimmigrant? I know it's a "hybrid," but I'm just asking because this update keeps saying "nonimmigrant visas." So does that include K1?

K-1 is non immigrant visa

CEAC you have to pull it up under immigrant. Even on the travel.state.gov it's under the immigrant. At most embassies it's under the nonimmigrant. Either way the outage was affecting all visa printing, but only the DS-160s for biometrics for non immigrants as immigrants don't use that form. There were (are) two seperate problems.

K1 in non immigrant with immigrant intent. It's just in it's own world.

You have to read between the lines a few days ago it said biometrics for nonimmigrants and printing for all visas. Could have been made clearer, but it did say that. The newest updated link does not express immigrant or nonimmigrant.....just says visas.

Example from Manila embassy notice the header of nonimmigrant, but read the bulletin. Clear as mud, huh?

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

Currently, we are unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after June 8, 2015. In addition, U.S. embassies and consulates are unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9, 2015.

Actually it does mention nonimmigrant visas..... "As of noon today, 39 posts have been reconnected, representing more than two-thirds of the global nonimmigrant visa volume."

So I guess I'm just wondering if this "post connection" is good news for K1 applicants or not.

Huh? Don 't know where you got that quote. I was talking about the previously posted link. **EDIT I FOUND YOUR QUOTE***

Getting technical with this will drive you crazy. Just assume that it's all visas because if you try to knit pick on their wording (non-immigrant vs immigrant, and besides that, k-1's are called both!), you could end up disappointed! :/ If they've fixed this many so far, I don't have much doubt that they'll be printing all visas at all posts very soon! :)

CEAC status change: Visa ISSUED!!! Thanks GOD!!

Congratulations! :)

Speaking of CEAC, is anyone else stuck on 'Ready' (as in ready for interview) despite having had the interview? Do you think this may just be to do with the technological issues going on? Also it said my case was updated June 9, today it changed to updated June 23 but still says ready for interview. Anyone got any ideas?

UT,

I see a similar CEAC result: Creation Date June 9, Status Update June 20

It says "Ready," although the interview was completed June 8th and Visa approved that day as well.
