NOA2 Approvals-October 2014 Filers (TSC)

Congratulations guys!! So excited that they are hopefully finishing all of October this week!!

Post noa2... Cases usually take 2 weeks but some people have said they waited longer. I started calling the day after it left, LOL. It took exactly 2 weeks and got my case number the same day. Then it took a day to get to my embassy (I've noticed that South America takes less time than other continents, though, like Africa or Europe, for obvious reasons! :) ). Nvc sent me at LEAST 10 of the same letter in the mail which is super annoying! Essentially that I was approved, reached NVC, etc.

After that you can check your status using the CEAC website. CEAC.state.gov . You'll need your case number, which you can call NVC to get or wait til you get the letter (or letterS hahaha).

Number for NVC... 603-334-0700

NVC is hard to get through to but the hours are 7am-12am et mon to fri. Best times to call are 6:59am et and 11-1130PM et and sometimes 12-1pm! Otherwise you just have to keep redialing! You'll know you got through when you're told to wait for the next rep. That'll be a good wait, anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour or more. If you hear them say all reps are full due to a high call volume, you didn't get through. Beneficiary can call toll free through skype. Don't be afraid to call. I recommend calling after 2 weeks then every few days after if you haven't gotten anything yet. Then you can call them to see if it's left NVC because right now the CEAC website is only notifying you if your petition got to your embassy, not when it's left. It'll say 'no data' or whatever, which it's not supposed to, but I don't know if they fixed it. When it says 'ready' on CEAC is when it's at the consulate. You can also call your consulate, of course! From there follow the instructions via your consulate's website!

Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here for you guys!

Congrats and happy almost birthday walrusbaby :)

Ps- looks like Ecuador is one of the 22 since people are being issued visas there! Yes, misspearls, Happy to almost be done! Lol! :) we're calling today to see if they have a time estimate for us!!

Thank you for the info!!!! You are awsome! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: I am happy this process is finally moving

Congrats to all Octobers with recent approvals and welcome to the fun part!

This afternoon, our status on the CEAC website moved from "In Transit" to "READY"! YAAAAAAAAY!!! It's real! It's real!

My question is, what comes next? Anyone currently going through Montreal who can offer a little insight of what to expect?

I have been very transparent with my employer about my departure and the wonky timeline, but yesterday they asked if it would be okay to post my job opening to the public.... does anyone know what kind of timeline I'm looking at? I keep reading that Montreal isn't very speedy but I don't know where I would find real world data in regards to current processing (delay in visa issuing or not). And any search I make of VJ is giving me data from 2012...etc. I need to train my replacement and I have no idea what to tell my employer about how much time we're working with. I know that once I have my medical, the 6 month clock starts ticking, but I want to be with my fiancé as soon as possible after visa-in-hand (as I'm sure we all do!) and I've been very open with them about that. Basically, is August realistic? September? JULY!!? Hahaha.

Really? Only info from 2012? Did you look at the historical processing times for your consulate on here? We could give you an average timeframe but it really depends on your consulate :( average could be 1-3 months for an interview then maybe 1-3 weeks after to get your visa. Maybe call up your consulate and ask them about a timeframe.

We're at Montreal but we haven't heard anything from them at all yet. I got the packet 3 PDF from the website and just emailed it yesterday. Hopefully, he'll get packet 4 soon. But I heard that Montreal is one of the slowest so we'll see!

And there it was this morning. A letter from the consulate stating they have received the file. We decided not try and call the NVC and for us the expected wait was dead on. 3 weeks from leaving Tx to arriving at the consulate.

So I called NVC today to see if they've got my case now...

I got to talk to a man.. He first said: "you have to wait 30 days from USCIS send it to us.."

Then 10 sec later he said: "you have to wait 35 days until you should call"

Then finally he ended the call by saying: "so wait 42 days until calling us"

??? omg!

It's like the longer you stay on the phone with them, the more days they add on ?

Crazy!

So the case was send from TSC on Monday June 22, we had our NOA2 on June 11, when should I expect them to assign my new case number?

Should I even be listening to what they are saying about the wait time ??

Guys, just wanted to write where I know other people may get me! I know all of this DOS progress is supposed to make me feel better, but I'm feeling more jaded and angrier now than I was when waiting for the NOA2. This is tearing me apart. Santy and I have spent a lot of the last month and a half that we've been apart not talking and just totally depressed. Does anyone else feel like getting closer to the end actually makes you feel more disappointed in how this whole process is? I can't seem to get myself out of this funk :(

It seems to take a little while now...maybe with the technical issues DOS has, these things take a while.

You're not whiny at all! If anything, I'm whiny! And I know I'm incredibly lucky to have been able to see my fiancé a month and a half ago. I'm so sorry that you haven't seen your fiancé in that long :( it's so disappointing; it really is. This is just putting so much stress on me. It's a constant disappointment. I started crying at the dentists office yesterday when they told me I might need a root canal... Of course that was upsetting, but on a normal day/week, I probably wouldn't have been THAT upset nonetheless cried in front of strangers. She asked me why I was so upset, and all I could say was I've just had a day. I've had a whole damn 9 months, really. (I didn't end up needing the root canal; just a 3 surface filling... Ouch.)

I'm waiting for my medical and appointment now with pretty much nothing to do but be stressed... I've been whining as well! I have asked my fiancé to come here before the interview but he's a realtor and July/August/September are his busiest months... I'm desperate pretty much, I hope I'll feel better tomorrow.
