Florida bear you were able to file Electronically since your husband will be having interview in Montreal, is that correct? Did the CEAC website specifically have a spot to file EP? My online fees are still in "process" so I can't check, but my husband is also in Canada and going to the Montreal embassy. I would love to file Electronically if it was an option. Any info would be great. Thank you and congrats!!! :)

Yeah I was and it paid off big time. I followed the steps on the travel.state.gov site exactly as they suggested in their FAQ for sending in documents and also the advice of the rep at NVC to not send in the supporting docs til the DS-260 was done.

I hope this link works as I detailed what I did.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/580467-nvc-filers-january-2016/?p=7968051

The link to the travel.state site should be in that post, if not then here ya go.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

It seems there is a lot of info on the Wiki site and stuff, some of it outdated, but I stuck with what the government said and I was approved to case complete one week after emailing the documents. I didn't try to speed anything up by sending documents before the DS--260 was submitted online. (Which should be available for you in a few days after the fees are paid and processed).

Hope this helps and best of luck! :)

Florida Bear- Question for you since you are the only other person I know who filed EP. Our lawyer EP our documents over to NVC today. Question is did you receive any confirmation from them, or did you call NVC to make sure they actually received your documents? Since my lawyer filed for us, I wasn't sure if they email you anything right away. Thank you! :)

All I got was an automated reply saying they received what I sent. Nothing personalized. I called 24 hours later to make sure they had it. The rep said since it's not mailed in there technically is no scan date as it's electronic. Seems that emailing it in gets it into their system faster which makes sense it's already scanned.

Here is what the automated reply said.

Dear Customer,

This email address is only for collecting scanned forms and documents related to your immigrant visa application. We cannot respond to inquiries sent to this address. If you submitted scanned forms and documents to us, we will send you instructions as soon as we review your case. Please do NOT send any of your required documents to the National Visa Center by mail – it will delay our ability to complete the processing of your immigrant visa application.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Florida Bear, quick question for you. Do you mind telling me what your priority date was? I was just wondering if cases with an earlier priority date which spent a long time at the USCIS has any effect on the processing speed at the NVC. I called the NVC today and the rep implied that the processing time at the NVC might be influenced by the priority date.

Thank you! I am going to call today and just see if they can at least tell me they have our stuff. Makes sense that there is no scan date since like you said you are already "Scanned into the system". Hoping for a quick CC. Did you get your interview date yet, I know you guys are also going to the Montreal Embassy. I wonder how back logged the embassy is. :) Thanks for all your help!

From what I can remember it was May 28th.

Looking at info on here from other peeps going to Montreal it takes maybe 2 weeks or so to get the interview date. We haven't received our yet but from seeing other posts the scheduling starts around the end of January for March interview dates.

Best of luck on everything going fast! :goofy:

Today marks 30 days since my scan date and I still have not gotten the 3 N/A. I am praying that I do not get a checklist and get an interview date in this week or in the coming week. How do we know which scan date there are working on right now?

Yay!!! I checked online today and saw that I had the 3 N/As the members talk about. So I just called NVC at around 9:47AM, my hold was 1 minute long and the representative informed me that my case was completed yesterday and that I should receive an email within a week to that regard and after that I will receive another email with an interview date. Hopefully I get an interview date within 2 weeks. FYI: Scan date was December 28,2015; case completed February 3, 2016. Yay!!! Things are starting to look brighter and we are closer to the end of this journey.

Good luck to everyone
