Less than twelve hours to interview and I am SO SCARED! I've triple and quadruple checked everything, but I'm still really nervous.

You'll be fine :) I panic at every little thing and my interview went without a hitch. Yours will too.

I kept a lyric from my favourite artist in my mind the whole time: "You don't have to feel safe to feel unafraid" ;)

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hello all thankyu for your prayers..

I am done with my interview just before an hour and got approved.

Just wanted to add my review.

My I interview was at 7:30 AM and I reached there by 6:45.

They asked us lo line up at 7 and we go through all security check.

Than an indian officer took all my documents and asked me following questions.

-who is calling you

-where is he now

- when did you married

-hhave you ever been to US or any other country

Than I waited for 45 mins and got interviewed by an american officer. I must say he was so good and greeted me with good morning and smile on face.

He asked me following questions. .

-what does your husband do

-with whom he is staying

-what does her mother and brother do

-where and what did I studied?

that's it than he said those three golden words.. YOU ARE APPROVED. he told me you are all set and will receive your passport in a week and you are good to travel after that!

Less than twelve hours to interview and I am SO SCARED! I've triple and quadruple checked everything, but I'm still really nervous.

YOU ARE HERE!!! Don't let nerves get the best of you-this is the absolute EASIEST part of the entire process. We were nervous too. I'm horrible at looking at details for embassies on this site but I have found there are rarely more then five to ten minute interviews in this visa category and usually around 5 questions or so. They also are almost always very nice and try to ease you. We read everything on here before our interview for the particular embassy we were going to and there were many personal reviews with helpful things to add. It eased us a lot and actually everything they said were spot on. The interview was the exact same as everyone else-same questions. Quick, painless. Most said the most difficult part was getting across the street after the interview around noon (this I can believe of Naples [smile]). There was only one thing that a few over the past year had to go back for (and NO ONE from VisaJourney-only seen from the members here). It was simply a matter of not having both Police and charges original documents for Italy. We had received a detailed sheet with our last packett with a code showing EXACTLY what we needed to bring in and what they received, etc. We actually only needed to bring 3 originals (as per the new rules stating copies of civil documents can be sent in) and to make a copy of each document to give to them as well. Again, this was even personalized so there was no way to get it wrong. I believe you know what I am saying. I also know that everyone here at VisaJourney lives on this site throughout the process making sure our research for this kind of thing is perfect (you know who you all are [smile]); there is no way you are not prepared. NONE. This is a piece of cake. Your case was closed, everything in order. You are done and it's maybe a few hours of your morning then your life is blessedly, wonderfully the dream you have been waiting so long for. Everyone was in one group from the medical the day before with my husband's so actually they were all talking and keeping each other at ease. Everyone got their visa approved that day. Many went sightseeing the day before and after the interview (smile) as they were there.

I am so happy for you; get ready for this to be all over! You will be fine.

I'm approved! And CEAC shows issued!

There was a moment of heart failure when the CO didn't think I was eligible, because my wife lives in Texas, a state that does NOT recognize same sex marriage. We went back and forth, he was already ready to start lying that she lived in another state or that she was about to move there, and then he found a thing saying what I was telling him, which is that the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA in June 2013 made all marriages, same sex or otherwise, equal in terms of immigration law regardless of state of residence and then his computer crashed for a minute and two minutes later, I was approved!

Congratulations! I knew you would be okay! When do you plan to leave? I hope you have a safe trip!

We were ecstatic when DOMA went into effect; a huge step in every way. My son is 17 and transgender. In the eyes of US law, they will consider marriage same sex for him (confusing but the way of it). Orlando only just now allowed marriage locally but we are sadly in an area that is against this in an extreme way. Rights are not so simple here even with the laws in place. Since being back here in the US, we have been involved in numerous bills for rights; even one we are still fighting for transgender rights here locally. I grew up 3 blocks from the border of Canada and spent most of my time in the Toronto area-was a very large first choice to go back to Niagara Falls there where he would be near Buffalo and Toronto; my son would have had an easier time then here in the South for sure. Can't even say the surprises we had when we came back here and what he had to face. We knew of many people in Italy back in 2011 that had relationships for years with another here in America but same sex marriage was less of an option for them back then; in either country, and DOMA was not in effect nor were rights the same.

So happy to hear everything went off well. Thanks for being on this thread and adding; it really adds a lot.
