Seriously though, it's encouraging to know we are all in this together. We're all unhappy and upset now because of the crazy unfairness with the difference in processing times, BUT how beautiful is it that by Fall of THIS YEAR most of us will finally be with the loves of our lives! The majority of us are getting married in 2015! Woo-hoo!!! No more long distance. No more long months apart. No more expensive plane tickets or taking weeks off of work. No more frustration with failed Skype calls and broken connections. We will all reach the day this year where we will wake up every day next to our wonderful spouse! So excited!! Praying the time goes by fast for us all!!!!!

Man I think 2015 wedding will be hard for me at this point, as it's really not a good idea to put any money down on a venue or vendors before the visa is in hand. And I'm not personally not getting married in December because of the holiday season.

I just hope you won't lose any money if you decide to set a date and then something unpredictable happens.

It just sucks planning for this in general. Ugh

Yeah, the unpredictable wedding planning also makes this whole process even more frustrating and annoying! And of course, getting an NOA2 is just the beginning of a new waiting period :(

My fiancé and I have agreed to have a small backyard wedding with just some close family and friends. We also aren't going to wait that long once he's here to get married. Probably 3 weeks tops! At least these are the plans and they can change at any moment haha

Sad, but true. It took months last year for the timeline prediction to recover from the incorrectly completed data fields. In or around October/November it had our estimated approval date as September 2014! Between the erroneous entries and the expedites, the VJ prediction was all but useless to the rest of us. It is also going to be difficult this round to see whether a member has filled in the wrong service center, because you can't look at it by state anymore to spot the error.

That's what I mean - you'll basically have to assume that any post March 27th NOA-1 is wrong. :crying:

The last couple of months at least, the prediction has been a useful tool at least - not accurate, of course, but that is expected.

It really has. There are always a few luck and unlucky exceptions to the rule, but since around mid December, the timeline stabilized and was for the most part fairly accurate. I suspect that is because by December last year the service centers had processed all the transfers so they no longer featured in the mix. Even although we knew it was wrong for the first few months after filing, it was all we had to go on and with the hope of decreased wait times after the transfers, it created baseless optimism [followed by the big jolt into reality].

Visa Journey should perhaps have a field in the timeline for adding the first three letters of the receipt number - one that will only accept three letters so that people don't inadvertently put in the whole number. Trouble is, every time we find a solution to an irregularity, USCIS changes its game for the next round.

I agree the VJ data for TSC is corrupted. All NOA1's listed for TSC are all obvious CSC or just bad entries. But you can see that if you remove those NO new NOA1's are listed as TSC.

Interesting I have been looking for PI entries and have found none. I did analyze the historical data looking at the country before and I know the sample has said that Philippines is 15-20% of ALL applications.

I will try to figure out how to upload my Excel data on applications approved every 5 days. It is an interesting picture.

K-1 Journey

2/27/2015: Sent I-129F to Black Hole in Texas:

10/22/2015 K1 Visa in hand. Son's K2 visa only valid for 6 months (W-T-F-?) Thought good for 1 year. Inquire at consulate and told visa good only as long as the medical which is 6 months K2 VISAS NOT GOOD FOR 1 YEAR AS ADVERTISED ON DOS WEBSITE!
10/29/2015 POE Chicago; Easiest pass through for Linh in her 4 previous entries.
11/2/2015: Not tuned in enough to Social Security not to pick "the first day of the month" to try to get signed up. Read VJ advice, it's spot on, we had a processor who knew K1. We were in the SAVE database in 3 days so it was easy after a 2 hour wait.

LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT UPDATE

Some of you may recall that the Skunkworks team sent a letter to president Obama requesting his help in balancing the I-129F processing times between the CSC and TSC. I penned it, KD proofed it and other team members viewed it. I FedEx'd it in early February. We definitely had our share of doubters right here on VJ, but we marched on anyway. Once the announcement came that the USCIS would shift processing of some of its petitions, there was some speculation as to whether or not our efforts helped bring about that change. Well just as a complete FYI, we now have proof that it did. Today I received the attached letter from the USCIS HQ that specifically addressed the letter I wrote to the White House. I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but personally I feel that our efforts were definitely not in vain and that if you choose to stand up and try to affect change, you can. IMHO we helped bring the transfer to fruition; it seems unlikely that the change will do much to help us who were involved, but even if it only helps others who file in the future, I - and I feel certain that the other Skunkworks team members would agree - consider that a victory, and well worth the nearly 80+ hours that I invested into it.

FWIW.

That's awesome, goes to show that voices count, don't just sit there accepting a ####### service like some were. Its not quite the workload rebalance we are after as its not helping already stuck but its something ,and it'll help some.

Thanks to you and team for all the hours you put in!

"TRANSFERRING THE ADJUNCTATION OF CASES"

DOES NOT EQUAL A TRANSFER FOR EXISTING PETITIONS AT TSC.

That is also confirmed.

Again, there will be NO transfer for existing petitions at TSC. If your receipt number starts with SRC, you're at TSC.

If your receipt number starts with WAC, you are at CSC, and you were never at TSC, and you were not transferred, you were routed.

When filling in your timeline, please understand that all I-129F's are sent to the LOCKBOX in Texas, and then ROUTED (not transferred) to your ASSIGNED service center- the one in Texas "TSC" (not the same as the lockbox!), or the one in California "CSC". If your tracking number starts with WAC, you're at the CSC, you were not transferred! There are no transfers at this time. If your number starts with SRC you're at the TSC and that's where you will serve your entire sentence.USCIS isn't fair.

They don't care about you.

That is great that there was success. I wish they would have transferred a few months to CSC. But I guess they figured it would work better if they sent new cases to CSC instead. It stinks that those are are there are stuck there. But maybe it will speed up soon and maybe the new hires they have will also help.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

rob & coa - Thanks for the feedback!

Stef - Yeah, but that isn't the point I was trying to make. I was simply stating that the efforts we made were successful in raising awareness and that awareness helped to bring about change, regardless of the form in which that change ultimately came; and who it ultimately ends up helping; which won't be any of us most likely. Regardless, it was indeed a victory and even if the time we spent on it only helps those who come along in the future, then it was worth it. At least to me.
