NVC is a part of DOS.

The online status update is notoriously unreliable, I'd call NVC tomorrow - if they haven't received it, I'd call USCIS to figure out when it has been sent.

So far my status still say that I'm approved and nothing about my case being sent.

What is DOS ?I thought it was sent to NVC :o

When we say that we can try calling NVC about 10 days after getting the NOA2 does it mean 10 days after getting the status update on USCIS or 10 days after receiving the paper version of the NOA2 ?

In our case, after 10days of us getting NOA2 update on USCIS, we got another update that our case was sent to NVC(part of DOS). Update came through in the evening.

March 6th NOA2

March 13th NOA2 hard copy(letter)

March 16th sent to NVC

You only mention email and text, maybe you didn't include the form with your application that indicated you wanted electronic notifications.

You do know you can check the USCIS website, right?

You can enter your SRCxxxxxxx number and see your status and notifications there.

Let us know how it goes (of course you are going to)......they say if your legitimate then your answers will be truthful to any of the questions that they ask, so this should give you confidence and nothing to be nervous about (easy for me to say).

I should of included that the status check on the USCIS website will only show you statuses for anything that happened up until the point it left USCIS to go to the NVC (i.e. RFE's, NOA1, NOA2, NOA2 sent to NVC), it will NOT show the progress for the NVC stage and beyond.

I called and they didn't have my application yet, the man said to wait 35 days from the date USCIS mailed the information and to wait for a letter in the mail from the dept. of state. How long have any of you waited before getting your information? My approval

Was 3/10 and I knew I was pushing it by calling today.

We have the same NOA2 date of 3/10. My case was then sent to NVC on 3/16. I called today and the woman I spoke to confirmed that the case is with them but she said she would need to transfer me to a "visa specialist" if I wanted to receive more information such as case #, beneficiary ID etc. (is this normal??) I got excited and of course said YES! Please transfer me! She transferred me and I was on hold when the line got disconnected out of nowhere!! Ugh. Just my luck!

I've tried calling again since then but get the usual message that all their representatives are busy and to call back later. I would try again if I were you. The 35 days doesn't seem to be set in stone so anything is possible.

Good luck!!! :)
