Oh...well did you use nonimmigrant one??

I actually tried both, same results...funny thing is that I thought the I-129F was a non-immigrant visa, but when I called the NVC (603-334-0700), this is the immigrant visa phone number, the recording said if its a non-immigrant visa to hang up and call a different number, so I did, and when I called the non-immigrant visa number, the recording said the operator will only be able to answer non-immigrant visa questions, when the operator answered I told her I needed info for the I-129F case status, the lady told me to call the original number 603-334-0700, the immigrant visa number...I called the immigrant visa number back and got the case and invoice numbers.

Hmmm I hope we can hear from someone who already did it then.

Btw when your case get to NVC, do we also get notification by text or mail or anything besides calling them??

No, the last notification you get from USCIS is the "sent to nvc" notification

I have not received anything from NVC without calling...the last notification(text, email) that I received from anyone was the one from USCIS saying that the case was sent to NVC.....I even emailed NVC on Thursday or Friday asking them for my case # but no reply. I know they have my cell phone number and email address because the woman on the phone read them to me to verify them, maybe they just don't send notifications..I guessing we will get something in the regular US mail eventually.

I know most of us, if any, are not at the point where our file has left NVC, therefore keep this in mind for future reference.

Previously I had provided a link from an older post that had instructions for tracking our package from NVC to the Embassy/Consult via DHL, here is a link to a newer post with updated instructions...apparently it is important where you put "spaces' when entering in Shippers Reference, the original link didn't include that information.

Check your USCIS Case Status where you found your approval ... It should tell you your file has been sent to DOS..

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

So if we've received our case #, does this mean we can go ahead and start filling in the DS-160? I did start, but did not complete. It's strange though because it asks for your NOA1 receipt number, not the NVC one.

I assumed the A# above the beneficiaries name on the NOA2 Hardcopy was the beneficiary id #, just to be sure, is the beneficiary number you received today the same as the number above your beneficiaries name on your NOA2 hardcopy?
